First I'll review our room. We were given a handicap room, which was fine, it was definitely roomy. However, the beds were pretty uncomfortable (you could feel the springs), pillows were uncomfortable (luckily I brought my own), we found bugs in our room/bathroom, wallpaper was peeling off the walls in the bathroom, shower had HORRIBLE water pressure.
Second, I'll review the specific time we stayed there. There was apparently a baseball tournament nearby. One would think if a bunch of rowdy kids were in the hotel, they would be put on the lower floors. But no. These kids were all on the top (4th) floor. Running, jumping, stomping, yelling - not only in the rooms, in the hallway. We were on the 3rd floor, right beneath what sounded like the meeting place for everyone on the top floor. After trying to go to bed at 9pm (we have a young daughter), by 11pm I was calling the front desk to see if someone could PLEASE go up to that room and find out what was going on. A couple of times it sounded like they were going to fall through our ceiling (sounded like they were wrestling). The noise settled somewhat, but continued all hours through the night, including at 4am what sounded like someone falling out of bed. We could hear the drywall crumbling in the walls and the ceiling was actually creaking. It was scary.
Third, I'll review the staff. I'll give it to them, they did go upstairs at 11pm and get the kids to quiet down significantly, but they still continued to stomp around until the wee hours. When we asked if we could move to a different room, preferably upstairs (so we didn't have anyone above us), they said the whole 4th floor was full (this was also after we had been told the baseball families would all be checking out that morning). I asked if the family above us was still there, they said yes, I said I have to be moved or we are going to a different hotel. They did not seem to care that we barely slept the night before. I can't see paying $144 a night to be startled awake several times in the night.
Long story short, we checked out of Hampton Inn and checked into Holiday Inn Express down the street. SO much nicer hotel, renovated, comfortable, quiet, and we enjoyed the rest of our stay in the Chattanooga area.
I was very disappointed in this Hampton Inn, I have stayed at other VERY nice Hampton Inns. This one is obviously in need of some renovations - both physically and within...
Read moreWe were there at the end of September this year and stayed for the weekend. I cannot remember having had a worse experience at a hotel than what me and my family had staying at Hampton inn in Ringgold, GA. My family and I stayed there (my kids being 4, 2, and 7 months, respectively). On three different occasions, did the staff come to our door and tell us that our kids were not allowed to run in our room, because it was too loud for the staff. If I must be honest, I must say that our kids are very well-behaved kids, and instructing them that they could not be kids and instead act like mature adults, was a little too much to accept! Shocking! They came to our room in the middle of the day on both Saturday and Sunday. It should be noted that our room was not located over another bedroom, but over a conference room (which wasn't used for the duration of the weekend). If this place is a place where families come to stay, staff should show a little more understanding. The swimming pool was also a horrible experience. Someone in charge of the pool had used way too much chlorine in the water, and when I attempted to use the hot-tub, I had to quickly exit it due to my eyes burning and uncontrollable coughing. The hot-tub was a chlorine steam. When we exited the swimming pool area, we noticed a person (who had been sitting in the hot-tub) vomit due to too much chlorine. I notified the person at the reception-desk of this, and was met with a blank answer that they would look into it. Last, but not least, the walls separating the bedrooms were also very thin. We could hear a baby crying down the hallway in our room. Oh, did I forget to mention that our shower was dripping the whole night despite our best effort to turn off the water? We will never return to this particular Hampton Inn hotel. By far the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life. The issue that stands out the most was how the staff at the hotel lacked professionalism and consideration for its guests. If I were you, look elsewhere for a better place to spend your money (that is, if you want to have a positive hotel...
Read moreIm not one to leave a bad review on a place of business but our stay was pretty terrible and the managers did not help. First night our room was cleaned, second night the beds weren't made, garbage wasn't taken. Towels still on floor and weren't replaced.
Key cards deactivated every night. Multiple trips to front desk to have them reactivated even though we made sure not to keep them by our phones since we were told that's why they are being deactivated.
My husband was extremely excited to get in the whirlpool/hot tub that we were informed has been broken FOR OVER A YEAR by the female manager but they still advertise the hotel has one.
No detergent sold at hotel to do laundry even tho they have signs saying they do.
"SMOKE FREE" Entire hotel is smoke free and as we complained to the female manager about to go out on her smoke break of the room smelling of smoke she couldn't comprehend how that could be because the entire hotel is smoke free. Staff is smoking right by the entrance of the lobby anytime you see them. So guessing their clothes/hands touching stuff in the rooms is how that happens. Unless rooms aren't being properly cleaned. My mother in law is sensitive to cigarette smoke so that's why we chose a "smoke free" hotel.
TV's have spots where pixels don't work.
Breakfast food was mediocre but was always hot and those ladies seem to be the well oiled machines of this place. The male manager was ordering them around while he shoveled multiple plates of food in his mouth and changed the one TV for the guest to his football channel even tho people were watching their shows then stood there and watched it. He would be watching TV while guest wait to be checked in to where other guest had to get his attention. Also he had his personal cell on speaker phone at the front desk checking people in having conversations with a lady. Extremely unprofessional.
Giant cockroach seen in the lobby on our last night was disturbing. Hampton name use to...
