Our friend recommended Vieira's restaurants "Fried Chicken". So, we live nearby and gave it a try. The place was drab and kind of dirty. Our waitress was nice and cheerful, but I think this was her first table, ever! We place our orders, my husband got the "Fried Chicken" and I got a "Hot Turkey Sandwich", he got a beer, and I got an Ice Tea. We received our drinks and before we knew it up came our meals. His was overloaded with large pieces of chicken and french fries, my had a gravy covered turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes. We took our first bite and looked at each other with disappointment on our faces. My Turkey Sandwich was made with thin sliced deli turkey, globed over with white gravy, and tasted sour. My husband gave me the wing of his chicken pieces, and it was over coated with crust, you could taste the flour, and fried to a dry crisp. It also tasted fishy, so they probably use the same grease to fry the chicken as the fish, and haven't cleaned the fryer lately. My husband also order another beer when we receive the meal, which we asked her for 2 more times during our meal, he is drinking my ice tea now, and finally another waitress brings over a beer "On the house", right about the time were done eating this awful meal. (We didn't even eat half the food on our plates). Now getting the bill took another 15 minutes, and after we gave her a $100.00 bill to pay, she couldn't count it back. She didn't have our ticket, and after trying 3 times to count it back, she finally went back to get the ticket and the amount she was counting back from was wrong. About $15.00 in her favor wrong.....needless to say, we will never be...
Read moreAnother hidden delta gem! A small 'islandette' if I may. I just love it here on this privately owned resort that is managed by responsible and caring hosts. It has just the right combination of clean facilities, sandy beaches, and grassy flat lawns, all surrounded by the river delta!! Including; a small but well stocked market, a bait & tackle shop, boat-launch with berthing, covered or open slip, private beaches, and guest dock. This resonates with the weekend tent camper to the proud boat enthusiast, to the R.V.'r. However you cruise, we can all relax here under ample shade from ancient cottonwood trees, and forget about life for a while! Polite and respectful staff are also friendly and make you feel right at (not) home. Great fishing and boating recreation within walking distance of your camp. They even have (Food!) a restaurant & bar. Although I didn't eat there this trip, I heard it's pretty good. There is a small boat yard, but they are limited in service's offered, and do not do haul-outs or work on sailboats (no hydraulic sling-lift). Prices for camping are very reasonable, especially compared to some of the other self-proclaimed 'resorts' in the area. Restroom and shower buildings are conveniently located close to the camping areas, and are also all ADA Accessible! They are clean, in good working order, have plenty of yummy hot water, and are kept stocked with soap, towels, and toilet-paper that doesn't leave 'behind'...
Read moreSo this was how my morning started here. My partner and I entered in the Resort and we weren't sure where to pay for parking since the booth by the entrance wasn't open. So I looped around to see where I can park. I decided to park in front of the restaurant so my partner and I can figure out how we can pay. The reason why I parked the car there was because I wasn't sure if I can park in the designated launching parking lot and there wasn't any signs that say visitor parking. Right when I parked in front of the restaurant, and walked out of my car, a guy came out of the restaurant and said in an argressive tone, "This is a restaurant parking and you can't park here". I explained to him that we were just going over to the booth by the entrance to see if we can pay. Then the guy said, "I don't care" and walked away. I felt so unwelcome here as this being my first time. My question is, how can he just assumed that my partner and I were not there for the restaurant? As guests, visitors or customers, either if we are there to fish, launch a boat, picnic, or eat inside the restaurant, wouldn't everyone who entered in the Resort still a guest, visitor or customer? I'm actually very disappointed to start off my...
