I review most every campground I stay at across the country. I always try to stay at family owned places to patronize the locals instead of the corporate owned as I find them more personable and friendly. Campshore Campground is no exception to that. Its a great place along the Ohio River in Aurora, Indiana. Close shopping in Aurora and Lawrenceburg. Close to the casinos of Rising Sun and Lawrenceburg. This campground offers so much for campers with or without kids. They have a large swimming pool, volleyball court, playground, Basketball court, horseshoe pit, live music on various weekends and boat docks on the river. They also have a few cabin for rent along the river. The owners are super nice people and take pride in the place. It has become my favorite of all the campgrounds I stay at and if you follow my reviews, you will see I have a lot of favorites. As I have said on previous reviews, every campground is a work in progress. There are always things that can be better and always things being upgraded. Independently owned campgrounds can't just dump a ton of money at once like the big corporate owned places, but this one is doing a great job making it the kind of place you would enjoy visiting. And you can always watch the barges go by on the river.

Management, facilities, events, pool, slides, staff, campers and sites, "Wonderful"! This is our first year as full time campers, everyone is great. Everything within walking distance ( great morning walks).

If I have to call to simply get a campsite rate.....see ya! SO easy to just post your rates, whether they be seasonal or whatever.

My family and I decided to spend my Birthday weekend at campshore campground, it was a horrible experience! They treated us like we were nothing, whether it had something to do with the fact that we were in a tent unlike 95% of the other people that were in expensive campers. They first complained because of dog that we had with us looked like a pit bull and they are not permitted Note: my dog is not a pit bull, and the family 2 spots down did in fact have a pit pull and was not asked to remove the dog. I had to return my dog to our home which is almost a hour away! But we stayed anyways since promised our children a fun weekend, well the first morning we were there my husband needed to use the restroom which was about a 8 min walk well he opted to just drive because he needed to go bad enough, well upon his return the met him at our campsite to inform him that his truck was to loud and it woke him up an that we might as well leave because we were bothering the sessional campers by driving at 8 in the morning! well once again we let it go and decided to head to aurora to get a few things we needed well obviously we really were getting under someones skin because when we return we were told that they had 3 complaints from the seasonal campers that we were speeding, the speed limit is 5mph at the campground and I myself was driving and can say I never went over or even touched my gas pedal on the way out, so putting this all behind us we tried to enjoy our last night, our children had fallen asleep on the way back so we decided to go fishing while the kids slept since we could park the car right beside the water, well about midnight my husband ran out of cigarettes and decided to go get some, we had a blast when he returned catching fish until you guessed it the next morning when we left to go pack up the owner once again met us at the camp site literally cursing at my husband because it was to early to be driving his truck (9am) an we were entirely to loud all night but yet our toddlers slept just fine right next to us without being disturbed? he told my husband it was our time to go an we were not to be welcomed back to his campground! so moral of the story make sure you review before you spend your money on some snobby arrogant campground when you would like to spend time with...

We have been driving by this place for several years to go to a popular camp ground down the road. On our way home I decided to stop by and check the place out. Wow! Is all I have to say. We were surprised at how nice this place is. The other place we were staying at was in the middle of a corn field. This place has huge trees, awesome pool, horse shoe pits, basketball court and a clean bathhouse right on the river. They have a snack shop that serves dinner on Friday night, lunch on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. This was a nice touch and the food was great. $20 for the five of us for lunch. ||This is a private owned camp ground and the owners and manager are very nice and went out of our way to make sure we were having a good time. There are seasonal sites, about 70, and everyone we met seemed very nice and friendly unlike some campgrounds we have stayed at. ||For thoughs who say this is not a family friendly place I don't get it. I have been to roundly camp grounds and this is not one of them. If you are the type of camper who is more into the stuffy look how big my rig is camping PLEASE do not stay here. You will not fit in. There were tons of kids playing and having a great time. One weekend we stayed, they had a pool party that night with a dj. Everyone had a great time. Every time we have stayed here the camp seemed to go to sleep around ten.||Overall a great place for the family and would recommend this hidden jewel. This has become my family's favorite place to go...
