After recent flooding that happened in Texas and killed many campers, I feel compelled to speak my truth. We stayed at camp kikthawenund and had a really great time, but at no point were we warned from the staff about the danger of the flooding that happened there that weekend. The back parking lot started to flood and surround the cars. One of their scout buildings also started to become surrounded by water. The main road leading into the camp was flooded. The camp is runned by young adults so parents need to be mindful of some of the potential dangers due to the river nearby. We were NOT being told how bad it was getting, but we (my family) left early anyhow. They continued to run activites as if nothing was happening. Had it continued to rain, things would have gotten really bad. The rain from the previous night (Friday) continued to drain into the camp all day on Saturday. Please use discernment and take note of your surroundings because you are on your own at this camp. Pay attention to the flood notifications that come on you phone. The camp will not tell you anything. Aside from that issue, the camp and staff were great.

We were very disappointed as a pack. It seemed like the left hand wasn't talking to the right hand. Something just seeemed to be missing that was there in previous years. Oh and when you go to the office to mention feedback, they immediately make excuses and say "council set them up for failure." Another adult posted this picture, and it says just what I want to say about my experience.

We rented the campground for this weekend for our Trail Life Camporee. The grounds were amazing and in good repair. The staff were friendly and helpful. The dining hall is great for feeding the masses and has a fully equipped commercial kitchen.

Pack 104 from Noblesville had a great time at camp K! The weather was crazy (hot on the first day and raining most of the rest), but the staff worked hard to keep the kids engaged. It is true that many of the staff are younger, but it is also a camp for them to learn to be leaders. Besides, the cub scouts learn a lot from older scouts and college aged kids. We were a smaller pack at camp, but it was big fun for the boys. We will be back next year!

P.S. They also have adult training available for free that alone is worth the cost of...

DO NOT SEND YOUR SON HERE WITHOUT WADERS. 6/20/2015 the camp is in very bad condition. all of the trails have standing water. The mud is everywhere, you cannot get around it. I was here in 2012 and 2013, I love this camp. Nothing has been done to improve this camp for many years and now. The Camp and Council need to work very hard to make this the place it once was. Rain happens, be a Scout,...
