The room is beautiful but some essentials are missing, and the business is questionable. We have stayed before, and enjoyed the view and pool, so came again, but this time we were very disappointed. At least this time there is a mini-fridge, but no microwave. And worse, no coffee maker, so you have to get dressed and go down to the lobby to get coffee in the morning.||The weather was cloudy and cold, and that's not their fault, of course, but it left us wanting to watch a little TV. The picture was terrible, so I asked for it to be looked at, and that there was a lightbulb out. "Kenny" came down and looked, and said he thought there was nothing wrong with the picture, but would fix the bulb, which he did. He did nothing about the TV. He denied any problem, and said the TV was the same In another room. I asked him to follow through with contacting the cable company and fixing the problem.||We got back, and it was the same. The front desk clerk said maybe it was the weather, but I replied there had been little to no wind or rain for the past several hours. Kenny was gone, but she told me he was the owner and I could speak with him in the morning. She refused to come up and look herself, but gave me water I had to ask for, for some evening tea.||Knowing the owner is the same for the Strawberry Hill Motel next door, I went to ask if they had any rooms and if I could see one. She wanted to know where I was from because the owner, "Dana," doesn't like to rent to locals because there have been problems. (I can imagine - beginning with complaints!). I checked out the room, and the TV there was fine. She said there had been problems with the cable there, but that TV had a good picture. It's not the cable of the weather. It's the shady owner - is it Dana or...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here for four nights at the end of August. It was absolutely THE best mini vacation we've ever had, due mainly to the accommodations at this wonderful inn. We've stayed in various other locations along the Maine coast, primarily B&Bs. We weren't sure if we wanted to veer away from that type of accommodation. We Are SO glad we did! Although the Inn is situation on a primary road, it's set back quite a bit, and it was very private and quiet. Our room (really more like a suite) was very spacious and so nicely decorated in a nautical theme. There were so many nice touches. The best part, though, was the enclosed sunroom off the bedroom. It had three big windows, and it was furnished with two comfortable chairs and a table, and binoculars were provided. There was an amazing view of Penobscot Bay. A short walk down a path leading from the Inn brought us to Adirondack chairs and a wide overhead sunscreen. We didn't use the pool, but it certainly looked inviting. The pool area was also well furnished. The entire area, inside and out, was clean and very well maintained. Coffee and tea were provided in the lobby daily. We brought our own mini breakfasts of muffins and fruit, but there were restaurants nearby. We enjoyed being there so much that we usually delayed our daily departures because we never wanted to leave the peace and quiet and the beautiful surroundings. We definitely recommend it, and we hope we have the opportunity to return some day. Oh, and BTW, Terry greeted us upon our arrival, and she gave us a nice,...
Read moreGreat bones, poor management. We went down to enjoy the pool the first full day we arrived, and only stayed from noon to 1. No one else was at the pool the entire time we were there. We played Marco polo and really enjoyed how nice everything seemed! By the time we were drying off in the chairs, Cheryl from the front desk had stormed down demanding our room number, and proceeded to hassle us about the apparently unbearable disturbance we created. By swimming alone in the pool, with no one else around. 50 feet away from the nearest building. We were compared to children, and reprimanded for “screeching and hollering”. We’re an engaged couple in our early 30s. The owner furiously confirmed this was “not the place for us”, and we don’t know how to “relax” and “enjoy a beautiful place”. After this encounter, our room mysteriously stopped being serviced. We received a call asking if we needed more towels, to which we replied ‘yes thank you’. We never got any towels. Also we found bugs in the bed and the shower drain is clogged. Fair warning: this is not the place for you if you are under the age of 65, or have any trace of...
