Mountain View Lodge — Hotel in Rocksprings

We recently spent 4 nights here and I can't possibly brag enough about how fantastic it was!! Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly donkey as if she was saying welcome! The kids loved this! Once inside the lodge I was absolutely stunned at the amazing floor to ceiling windows which displayed the beautiful serene outdoors. There was enough room for the kids and adults to enjoy time separately or together as a family. We spent our mornings feeding the animals and enjoying coffee on the decks.. afternoons we spent down by the crystal clear waters .. although a little too cold to really swim the kids enjoyed splashing around and finding cool shaped river rocks .. our evenings we spent around the campfire making s'mores and telling stories!! We had an amazing time and loved being out in the middle of nowhere. We didn't miss the big city ( Houston ) one bit. We did venture out into town a few times but spent most of our time right in the lodge! Secluded, safe home on the Nueces River. Easily sleeps 12 including 2 private bedrooms with king size beds, shared bath. Huge open 2nd floor deck, safety wired for kids or pets. Covered 1st floor patio with overlooking the river.

2nd floor kitchen had everything needed by most people. First floor bathroom next to tv / group bedroom (3 beds total there) another large room with sink and bed, plus pullout bed. Comfortable leather furniture. Ideal for larger family or friends. Large dogs welcome.

Sunset over the mountain range and river was great. Mid September visit saw many deer including some wading through the river in morning. Water was high so we floated to second low water crossing, walked back about 3 hours. WiFi available for email. ATT is only cell service available so landline provided.

We hope to return in the spring with more family. Be sure to have hard copy of map into cabin in hand before starting. And veer left at the metal F and building.

Incredible views! A short walk down to the river, even with small children it was easy enough to go down to play in the water. My wife said it was the best stocked place we have rented.
