This was a great campground! Quite campers, super clean (and nice smelling) bathrooms, and the camp host site was decked out with a stunning light setup that we saw while taking a walk just after dark. The sites are roomy with plenty of parking for 1 or 2 cars. There were RVs but I did not notice electric hook ups and I did hear a few generators running at one point. Several sites have spectacular river access. There is also a trail head to box canyon. We hiked and fished a few miles down the trail. The views were stunning and included plenty of mule deer and wild flowers. We will definitely return to this...

Read moreQuiet, scenic, great access to the upper Rio Grande, and it's a fun day trip to Silverton via Stoney Pass in a 4x4 Jeep or truck (Power Wagon in our case). We had lunch in Silverton, returned via Engineer Pass, had dinner in Lake City, No power, but water is available from a hand pump. Saw Big Horns near the reservoir, caught some tasty trout too.
