Ginormous campground😲 This is probably the largest COE property I have ever visited. It actually has separate neighborhoods. 4 to 5 of them. There's waterfront, beachfront, Forest, an actual little neighborhood with streets, and an island!🏝️ You would have to visit here to know which sites to choose. All the locals do. Some people have been coming here for decades. Everybody has their own favorite which is understandable because out of the more than 200 sites there are two dozen that are really unique ! 🤩 Some can be quite challenging to maneuver larger campers into. 😬 Some sites are actually right on the water. I don't mean nearby I mean you back down to the lakefront and your slide pops out over the water! 😲 It's great for biking, there's so many different roads to go down. And you can go over to the day use area and also the marina! The boat ramp here is crazy busy, from sunrise until well after sunset. Many people have their boat behind their campsite if they're lucky enough to get one of those. The downside of this 🏞️ park is no water at the campsites. So it's important for the ⛺ tenters to she was a site near one of the water spigots.💧 There are only two restroom buildings with showers.🚿 And the showers are terrible.😫 Wherever you are it's a long walk to the only flush toilet.🚽 There are a handful of pit toilet buildings. One of the forest sections has portable toilets. ☹️ This is only my second AR COE campground, and in both of them I have experienced trashy neighbors...😖 Loud, cursing, disruptive, in the middle of the night! 🤬 I have not experienced this at COE Parks in other states.🫣

I want to give this place 5 stars, but I just can’t. I assume it’s at least partly the TrumpCuts, but this place needs attention. The bathrooms and showers are a joke/nightmare. They are filthy, full of bugs, there’s no soap or sanitizer, and over the course of a week they were “mopped” once (meaning muddy water was moved around the center of the floor and all bugs left in place). The location is fantastic. Great swimming, paddleboarding, all sorts of watersports. Spots right on the lake! Just gorgeous. I left a day earlier than planned because some of the spots are just too close together and alas, I was stuck in one. Frankly, this is not a state with a respectful camping culture. (Lots of outdoor TVs. Insane.) It’s worth a trip, but bring your own bathroom setup, and choose your spot carefully.

I tent camped at site 78 in an inner loop with electric only sites and no toilets. There are only 2 buildings with showers for the entire campground. I used the west one which had 1 toilet, 1 shower, and 1 ADA shower. I chose odd times to take my shower and didn't have a problem except there's no bench and an inadequate hook. Even though the campground was pretty full the bathroom facility was clean. Horseshoe Bend Campground forbids all changing tents! A ranger make me take down mine. Two nights of my stay were sleepless thamks to screaming children in the tent next door. Lots of shade, sites were well spaced. We found a reasonable path down to the lake for kayaking. The bluffs are lovely and interesting. I will probably return but probably not during peak season. Only 15 minutes from Rogers!

I am currently staying at the Horseshoe Bend campground in Rogers, AR on site 158. ||I reported to the gate keepers yesterday that the 20amp GFCI circuit was tripped and wouldn’t reset. The gentleman who was at the gate told me he would go down and take a look at it. I was concerned because as I was explaining it to him he asked me if I meant the “little one”. I told him yes. ||||I was headed back to work and told him I would be back out that evening. When I returned at 9:00pm, I noticed that my camper was dark and that my exterior light was off. I checked and sure enough he had turned off the 30amp breaker to my camper. I turned it back on and went inside. Sure enough it had been off all day and my fridge in turn was off. My freezer was defrosting and the bag of ice I had in it had leaked all over the floor and carpet. ||||I went back to ask him why he had turned off the breaker and he told me that he hadn’t. That it must have tripped. I informed him that there is a difference in a tripped breaker and a turned off breaker because you have to reset a tripped breaker. I am in the construction trade and used to be an electrician by trade before I became a general contractor. I could see the look on his face that he knew he had forgotten to turn it back on. ||||He then proceeded to tell me that I would need to plug into the other pole because that one wasn’t working. My cord wouldn’t come close to reaching. I then asked him if he turned it off because it wasn’t working and he said yes. So I asked him that if that was the case then why did he lie earlier when he said he didn’t and that it must have tripped. Needless to say I was pretty aggravated last night. I had to run back to town to get my shop vac so I could suck up the water and a fan to help dry out the carpet. ||||Then I asked him if he had shut it down then why didn’t he call me since they have my phone number in the system when I checked in. He just said he was sorry and closed the door. ||||I am a bit frustrated at all that. He has no business working on an electrical service if he isn’t licensed and is obviously incompetent if he wouldn’t even bother to call me after turning off my campers service knowing that people have fridges full of...

The site was well maintained and the staff at the very front of the entrance was kind to us as we left to checkout. There are a very small number of bathrooms and showers. Almost any time we went to them (at night or during the day) there was at least a couple people in a line for the facilities. We are low maintenance so I don't consider myself an expert.

Where it fell extremely short for us was one member of the staff. He came on a scooter to check our campsite card. I had made my reservation and paid for it online. We had a flat tire and had to come to our campsite well after hours and then leave for a float trip early in the morning. I had called the office for the campsite and informed them we would be late, the lady said no worries and it was fine, she did not tell me I had to call again at any other time. The man who rode up to our campsite told us it was not ok for us to be in this spot without checking in at the front. I tried to explain we had come in late and couldn't check in, but that I had called ahead of time. He cut me off and wouldn't let me answer. I then tried to give him my online reservation sheet so he could check us in and he said "ma'am let me stop you there, you shouldn't be here without calling us first." I tried to inform him that I did call in. He again cut me off and said "no one should be pointing fingers, you just need to do the right thing next time." I couldn't tell if he was being rude because he was racist (my husband and brother are Hispanic) but he was so rude it kind of ruined the rest of my afternoon. I already had a very stressful trip and it just really left a sour taste in my mouth. I was so disappointed I don't think I will be returning. I did not feel after that that my family or I were welcomed and I just wanted to leave as soon as possible. If I was in the wrong, I'm just surprised no one had informed me of their policies before I booked a site or when I had called on the phone the day before. Do not book this place unless you plan to move your schedule completely around them or plan to have absolutely no delays or...
