Most of our business was in, around, or north of Rome, but this seemed to be the only reasonably-priced motel available convenient to our travels.|PROS: The property is clean and neat. The owners are pleasant and helpful. In the tradition of the past, daily tidying of the room, with trash and used bath linens removed. They were very aware of and pro-active about an unusual outdoor bug issue that is plaguing the entire area, with the bugs (neither stinging, biting, nor dangerous) finding their way into the rooms. Every effort was made to prevent them from getting in, and removing them when they did, on a daily basis. Great guest care!|Easy access to the property.|At least the nights we were there, everyone was quiet and well-behaved.|Reasonably priced.|The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well every night.|Plenty of hot water. Plenty of TV channels to view. Great AC! |In-room coffee supplies (although it is the common cheap coffee that always smells old).|CONS: No freezer in the in-room refrigerator to keep my water frozen for our hours out in the heat and humidity. None of the USB plugs on the wall lamps worked (had to use a wall outlet adapter) for recharging my phone. None of the reading lamps on the wall fixtures worked. One wall lamp didn't work at all. No (alarm) clock. No iron.|VERY minimal...
Read moreBooked online to save a few bucks and was worried about some of the reviews. I needn’t have worried.|Cleanliness: No issues except dirty guests throwing trash in the parking lot which the staff promptly cleaned up.|No smoking room: There was a cigarette burn in our carpet so someone smoked in our room at one point, no big deal since the smell of smoke was not present. The room smelled good and clean.|Insects: Outside the hotel there seemed to be a lot of bugs trying to get inside. We have seen this before in the south when a swarm of ladybugs ended up in our window. This hotel used towels outside the doors to keep them out. It worked, no real bug issues.|Environmental control: it was sooooo humid and hot during our visit, I’m so happy our air conditioner was amazing! This was of great importance to me.|Bed: very comfortable, no issues.|Decor: Dated but nice, no issues.|Free breakfast: Lame, go elsewhere.|Bathroom: Possibly the smallest bathroom ever, but functional with strong water pressure and very clean.|Mini fridge: no issues.|Price: Excellent considering difficulty finding lodging this week.|Location: Perfect for me, less than 15 minutes from our activities in Rome.|Security: No issues or concerns.||This was the right place at the right time. I’ll come again next year unless I hit the lottery and can...
Read moreWe booked side-by-side rooms for us and family in Rome for a college graduation. The rooms were clean and did have amenities like microwave oven, fridge, ironing board (and one of the rooms had an iron), nice big flat screen TV, plus, very importantly, comfy beds and some variety of pillows (I like a flatter one). The AC was easy to operate and not too noisy. Defects: the room phone had no cord for connecting to the wall outlet; tiny, tiny toilet & shower room (tho one could use it while another occupant used the sink and mirror). Final defect - breakfast. The hotel has a tiny, tiny space for breakfast service. The offering is two kinds of cereal, whole milk, bananas, and granola/fruit bars. Not much, and just two tiny tables to sit and eat it. BUT, the room was a bargain at $60 each and we did get adjoining rooms, helpful. Oh, and the proprietor was very friendly and helpful with directions. Also, for breakfast one can walk across the highway...
