I came here with my sister and family. I just wanted to make people aware that it’s a private beach and because of that the staff have no training and the owner has no obligation to treat paying customers/guest with respect. Please go to public beaches or water parks, where staff is trained to treat everyone equally and be sensitive to the words you use with somebody not of your same race. There was also a little Hispanic boy that died drowning in this lake because there are no lifeguards that is why the waiver is very important to them because they do not want to be held responsible for your child funeral cost Because they are too cheap to hire lifeguards. We were singled out and accused of trying to Get through their beach without paying. After my sister explained to them, we were looking for my mother and her son Both cannot swim, both did not know about signing waivers and wristbands They still have a very nasty attitude towards her and her husband they immediately yelled at him and her in front of her children that she had to leave because the beach was closed. They didn’t close till five. They were also very rude to another Latino family for playing music. We understand it’s privately own therefore they have their own rules. it’s the way you treat people and the way you talk to People. My sister and her husband were very upset after they were singled out after their cashier suggested they should leave because they don’t want our type of people here. This is why us Latino people Black people should be very careful when supporting private own business by ignorant people that do not support diversity and have respect Or value the dollar our type of people put in their pockets. The only response the owner had to give Under my sister‘s review is they will not tolerate disrespect towards staff and that they have rules and waivers to be signed. At no point did he issue an apology For what happened to us, or our experience or for the misunderstanding if that’s the way they see it. I am also going to write this in Spanish for my Latinos, I share my experience to raise awareness on the racism and discrimination that still exist in our community Let’s not support businesses that do not support diversity and inclusion our hard-working money should not go to establishments that do not respect our type of people. I’m sure the owner will have something to say Just know how y’all came about it was wrong and your staff and yourself needs proper training. We are living in a time Where us younger generation is woke on the racism and discrimination, and we will not allow our type of people to continue to support...
Read moreWe stayed here with 2 other families for 3 nights / 3 campsites and honestly had rave reviews, the beach on Saturday was jammed packed to the point it wasn’t that enjoyable, not to mention the day passers leave behind the biggest mess, definitely not a reflection on the resort itself, but they may want to implement limits on the number of people they’re allowing in. Sunday we decided to sit in the “camper / seasonal renters area” to avoid the crowds. Since you couldn’t hear the music from the speaker system facing the main beach area, we made a special trip back to our site and grabbed our speaker. We were totally vibing with other campers, playing requests even, we honestly didn’t think we were being inconsiderate to others and I didn’t see “no speakers allowed” in the rules so we were a bit thrown off guard when the owner walked up and legit cut our speaker off. First off, we’re reasonable people, he should have talked to us before taking it upon himself to touch our personal property. We wouldn’t hesitate to comply, instead he didn’t give us that opportunity & it left a sour first impression.. On a side note, this review should also debunk other reviews saying they were racially profiled for a similar situation since we are white… So there’s that.. I however, could not believe the number of people jumping the fence like it was the US border without bracelets, and/or with day passes when it clearly states campers only then setting up tents, and even grills when it states in the rules it’s prohibited. I think day passers are going to ruin a good thing here. less than 24 hours ago, everyone in our group was ready to pull the trigger on seasonal sites, now we’re all rethinking it… The beach area for campers needs to be regulated better, it wasn’t fair to us to pay private property accommodations and instead experience public. Hopefully, this review is received well because we will most likely be back for another trial run. The staff is amazing!
Edit: still not seeing no speakers anywhere in the rules. You may want to update it! Also, day passers left beer cans scattered all over the beach so you can’t tell me they do a good job cleaning up after themselves, I seen it with my own eyes!! if I can contain my trash with these so called 30 mph winds, so can they… Clearly, the beach revenue is your bread & butter… That’s all we needed to know. Like I said before, we paid for a private camping experience, apparently private doesn’t include the amenities.. Might as well book at a state park for half the...
Read moreI would advise all to heed with caution as the owner feels it's necessary to contest every negative review. To ownership, please realize it is impossible to only have good reviews. Negative reviews can be a positive thing if one views them as a means to make improvements rather then trying to state they are inaccurate.
When new ownership took over in April of 2023 I was excited upon hearing all of his plans to rejuvinate the grounds. While he has done a lot of improvements to the beach, nothing has been touched in the campground. In October of 2023 we decided the 2024 season would be our final season. We paid our non refundable deposit as we agreed to the terms of the contract. Two days later an adendum was sent out that if a unit is sold on the property it must be listed by the campground and 10% would go to the campground. Upon receiving this I called the office to ask how our unit would be marketed since it must be sold through them. I was told I would receive a for sale sign and the unit would be placed on facebook marketplace. My husband and I made the decision to leave. Not only were rates significantly increased but to give them 10% for something I could do for myself did not make sense. I tried to contact the owner several times and gave my phone number for him to call me. The manager at the time told me the owner would not be calling since I made the decision to leave. Perhaps if the owner called and explained what their intentions of marketing my unit would be, we would have stayed. However, I am glad that we left due to what I am hearing from current seasonals. Lack of security after 5pm is causing chaos in the campground due to staff not ensuring that the public has left. There has been an increased police presence due to different incidents occuring. There have been three occasions where couples are partaking in inappropriate acts. One on the beach, a second on a campsite, and the third near the dumpster. Sewage recently leaked and flooded campsites. The owner also intimidates current seasonals if they leave a bad review. Isn't the point of a review to have honest feedback? A majority of the reviews are from current employees and...
