Hotel Rumford — Hotel in Rumford

We ordered takeout, and the hostess/waitress asked my husband to sit somewhere else rather than stand where he was standing, even after he came back after an hour and a half wait for food. They forgot the Buffalo chicken tender order completely, and we had to return after another wait for the missing food. While waiting, my husband checked the rest of the order. His burrito was chicken, when he ordered steak. Upon getting everything wrong, the hostess proceeded to roll her eyes as though her one job was too irritating. We gave a massive tip before receiving the food, so hopefully it paid for an attitude change and some restaurant business understanding. The staff is rude, pushy, and need customer service training. The orders are half listened to, and apologies only come once a voice is raised to express the severe disappointment of entire situation. Upon finally eating my stir fry order, 2 hours later; I tossed it out, because it tasted as though they ran out of every seasoning option available in their kitchen, and it was cold. Overall horrible experience in EVERY sense of the word in the restaurant business. I came to Rumford with some coworkers to work on a couple bridges. We booked a room from the 9th of Oct to the 21st at the best western. A few days after we had checked in Best western told us that they couldn't accommodate us for the 2 weeks that they MAY be sold out. I had gone over to the Hotel rumford for dinner a d a few drinks dreading the fact that we were probably going to have to drive back and forth from auburn or Lewiston daily. I was talking about it with Derick. He turned and asked me how long we needed a room for and how many rooms. He turned around made a phone call and told me that we were all set and we could stay there for the time we needed. Everyone restaurant and hotel was extremely nice and took care of us. The rooms have such a warm homey feeling to them. Just a real gem of a place. I would highly recommend to all who are thinking about coming to the area to stay here. You will not regret it. As an extra bonus for those who like paranormal activities they place definitely has residual activity going on there. The food was awesome too. Nice little place. The dinner service was good. I felt like being home. Currently staying in the 2 Suite. Wished it had a microwave, went and bought one to use while I stay here for a couple of months. Cost was right for what I needed up here. Only complaints so far are; the window unit could be removed during winter as it is not sealed at all, causing the room to stay cold. I can only assume that with the warmer weather last week, the radiator heater isn't working. I will bring this up this afternoon when I get back to the room. Even without heat on the room, it stayed about 60-62 degrees. Was hoping for a Veteran discount but not a killer here.
