My husband, son, and I stayed at the Antique Mansion for a full week. I was returning to Rutland for my 50th year class reunion and I had always marveled at the Mansion as a kid growing up in Rutland and into adulthood every time I drove past it. We arrived a day before our scheduled stay, and lare ar night as we were driving up from Florida. Upon calling before we made it to Rutland, Sallie was very accommodating and made rhe room available for us before our scheduled check-in the next day. Sallie was the perfect host. She prepared us fabulous breakfasts every day, as well as Eric, who covered for her while she was briefly out of town - pancakes, French toast, eggs, the works! There was always tea and coffee available for us when we returned to the Mansion every evening. The accommodations were perfect for us, being centrally located and the country club is across the street which made it convenient for meals and the functions we were attending. The Mansion is lovely, spacious, comfortable (so are the beds) and the history is very fascinating. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful and quiet. We will stay here again as we visit family in the area. I highly recommend staying at the Antique Mansion if you are planning a stay in Rutland....

The room I stayed in with my mom was spacious, and the mansion itself, while smaller than expected, had a large dining room and some other smaller rooms accesible to the guests. One smaller library-like room with a massive selection of books (from Tolkien to Tom Clancy and Calculus textbooks,) a keurig machine and some snacks was accesible late into the night and was a life saver for my night owl self.
Ate a delicious breakfast with the other guests - pancakes, eggs, oatmeal, fruit salad, and coffee, and of course, local vt maple syrup. Info on local restaurants and menus was provided as well. The mansion itself is historic and the owner regaled us with the story of its construction and subsequent changes made by the second family who ownedit over breakfast. Large grounds were beautiful and my mom, an avid amateur photographer, very much enjoyed herself taking pictures of the landscaping there. She also met two very friendly cats, although the owner keeps them out of the guest rooms because of allergic guests and the issue of pet dander.
If you like this sort of historic, rustic B&B and you're visiting this area I highly...

It was my wife's birthday and I surprised her with a trip to Vermont and staying at this location. ||I will begin with our host and owner, Ms. Sallie. The moment we arrived, we felt instantly like being part of a family. Her kindness and sweetness made us feel like we've known her for years. ||We stayed in one the most exquisite rooms. Everything was what we imagined. This BB was located just minutes from downtown Rutland and minutes away from the local ski resorts. We are not skiers, however, to travel to and see the scenery of some of the resorts was exhilarating.||Sallie served us with great hosting and breakfast each morning, and more importantly, great conversation. When you are staying here, ask her about the history of this beautiful BB. ||We also had the opportunity to share breakfast with other guests and we made some instant friends. ||I highly recommend to stay at this location if you are in need of a place to stay while visiting this area. ||Thank you Sallie for a tremendous experience and we will be back.||Ken and Mary...
