Lakewood Park campground is a good a option for people that like all year camping at the cake front. They have 10 diffirent cabins to choose front that acomodate diffirent size families. This particular one was just a little short of 200$ per day. #cabin #lake #camping

The PA cabin was a glamping dream. Pretty light, wood floors, futon, tv, electric fireplace (heater), nice air conditioning, beautiful glass shower, bathroom. Kitchenette: sink, microwave, small 2-door fridge, functional counter-top with mirror… and a FIRM MATTRESS. A comfortable bed. They provide hand-soap, which saves lugging extra stuff, clean white towels, wash cloth, bed linens. Door lock is electronic, with kick lock at top, for added security. Large windows with nice, pull down curtains: front door, kitchen, bathroom. Regular curtains in living room area, with a large- curtain, privacy divider. Only SLIGHT nuisance is the small fridge requires serious bending over to retrieve items in it. Quiet atmosphere. There are cabins close together 1-10 & several interspersed in mostly RV campground. LAUNDRY at bath-houses. Nice woman, in office, friendly, with life experience. A young Zoey assisted me with a golf cart; such wonderful help! A gentlemen helped get my bags to inside cabin, Ralph. KIND PEOPLE! Wood, $6 a bundle. Self-serve. I will definitely return.

The staff everywhere we went were super friendly and we were happy to see how clean everything was inside our cabin C12. As soon as we arrived, the front desk agent shared with us activities going on in the park if we were interested and some local places like Hometown Farmers' Market and places in Tamaqua which was super helpful.

I would highly recommend going for the Linen package (only an extra $20 for the week) which comes with blankets, pillows, towels, and washcloths. You still have to bring your own pots, pans, plates, and silverware but for $20, the linens were a nice addition.

The only things I would like to note as constructive feedback are: The window in the bathroom of our cabin had a broken lock so we couldn't lock it all week and while the window is far enough up from the ground outside that someone couldn't just hop inside without a stepstool, it still was something we wanted to mention. Throughout our week there, there was a dump truck that kept going back and forth by our window every 20 to 30 minutes from 9 AM to 6:30 PM constructing a new campsite down the road and a train track with active trains daily right behind the park. With that said, we understand campsites like this are only so nice because their staff takes such good care of the grounds and that only happens sometimes with machinery. And while there is no control of where train tracks are, it's something to keep in mind when booking this campsite. Throughout our week, we did see a handful of white-winged bugs (might be termites) walking around the cabin from time to time. These bugs never bothered us and we were in the woods so we expected a few bugs but we only wanted to mention it here because we don't want to see such a fantastic cabin be taken over by them in case they are termites as we would love to return to the cabin year after year. Late in the evening on Thursday, we tried using our key cards to get back in our cabin and neither of them worked for some reason. With this said, we called the store (I do recommend keeping the store phone number saved on your phone before going camping at any campground) and were directed to call the "0" emergency number after store hours. The man who answered that call was able to open our door remotely after verifying who we were. We loved how quickly he solved our issue and how friendly he was. That really impressed us and our key cards were back to working the next morning...we still have no idea what caused them to stop working then work again the next day. We did find it strange that checkout time was 10 and the camp store didn't open until 9:30 AM. We were leaving around 9 AM to get to our next family function on time and used the key drop outside the door but it would have been nice to check out with a human as I still say one of the best things about this campground is their staff.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience. Every single person we interacted with was super friendly and helpful to us. The store was very cost friendly with nothing there being too overpriced. Honestly, the park is somewhat in the middle of nowhere so it was nice to see there were reasonable prices for basic things like wood, laundry detergent, and little momentos like magnets. My husband and I are a gay couple and I wanted to note here that none of their staff even looked at us strangely and treated us with the utmost respect, and service with a smile every single time - so we are SUPER happy to recommend this camp to our family, friends, and we would happily come back year after year. The prices for the cabin are very reasonable - low enough that I look forward to bringing my family here without breaking the bank and high enough to keep others out that might have made the whole campsite their own playground. Everything inside the park is very well thought out and the cabin was beautiful inside and out.

Thank you for taking the time to hear our feedback and for the amazing vacation. Your staff does a fantastic job at keeping it...

First visit for family of 4: 2 adults two teens for two nights, July 6 -8. I found this place online while looking for a place to stay to visit knoeble‘s theme park. it might or needs well we stayed in a cabin that appeared to be brand new number 11 there is a nice space between sites. The whole campground is very nice including a lake with fountain and event center cabins RV sites bath houses a playground a store, free paddle boats and kayaks. all staff were so friendly and you can tell they take pride in their campground. There is a small café, but it was not opened as we were there Sunday evening through Tuesday morning. I think it’s just on weekends. The cabinet itself was spacious. It had a back bedroom with a queen bed with a private door and ceiling fan. There was then two bunkbeds that we didn’t use across from a bathroom that was very spacious for a tiny cabin. There was also a kitchen with a stove and fridge no dishwasher. There was a table and stools, as well as a sofa sleeper bed in the living room. It offered a nice front porch as well complete with fire pit and picnic table outside they even include soap shampoo, etc.. The prices were good. It served our needs well for two nights if we had stayed longer I probably would have been longing for a pool, but we were there for the amusement park so it was ok. There is an active train that comes very close to the campground so consider that if it bothers you, it didn’t bother us at all. There is also a cute little firewood shack on the honor system where you just drop six dollars cash. They have plans for an arcade and bar and they also currently have a nice camp store. I will return and recommend it’s in a beautiful...

We stayed at Lakewood Park Campground in Barnesville, PA, for a few days for R&R. And we got it!

THINGS I LIKED: This place has the best of an old-fashioned campground with a great layout. But it offers modern amenities and utilities in a natural setting. Family owned and operated by folks who take great pride in offering a really nice place to stay. About 30-minutes to Jim Thorpe, PA, or Lehigh Valley Zoo. The place is filled with mature shade trees which offer some protection from the sun and a beautiful setting. But they take great care to remove problem trees and branches from the sites and roads. Fun activities during our stay included bingo and a food truck. Our site (#74) was plenty big enough for our 45’ motorhome and Jeep plus lots of room to spread out. The park is relatively new. Everything is clean and in great working order. All kinds of maintenance was going on throughout each day, and it shows. I contacted the campground by email after 11pm to inquire about availability to arrive a day early. I sent an email rather than a phone call as I had no expectation of a response until at least the next day. They replied within minutes, adjusted my reservation, sent a revised confirmation email, and didn’t ask for payment until I arrived for check-in. Wow, that’s top-notch service!

THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE SO MUCH: Traveling to this campground requires driving several steep grades (8+%). Do your best, drive slowly, and stay focused. Of course, it’s not the campground’s fault, just something to be aware of when planning to visit.

WOULD WE COME BACK? Absolutely, this is...
