I was looking for a fall getaway in Texas, and this was perfect! We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, and immediately fell in love with Rio Bella! It was a luxury cabin - all of the conveniences, allowing us to feel comfortable, while enjoying the sparkling green Frio River, and the gorgeous cypress trees turning colors. Having a private balcony (all cabins do, so you canāt miss!) was amazing, and ours (Sabine) had a perfect view of the dam below. Several other cabins have a great view of the dam as well. They all have a flawless view of the Frio, which is a tremendous experience. Having a fire in the fireplace each evening, and the doors open to the sounds of nature during the day, was awesome. Rio Bella has plenty of beautiful spots to relax. ||||The proximity to Garner State Park, and Lost Maples (further, but not far) couldnāt be better. The price is great, and having wifi, and the ability to cook and grill our own meals, and very comfortable beds made a difference. There are restaurants and a grocery stores fairly close, allowing us to shop and eat local, which is important! Having health issues, it was helpful to have all of the comforts, while surrounded by Godās beauty. We also loved being visited by one of Rio Bellaās cats! ā¤ļø We saw a large flock of wild turkey from our balcony, across the river, one evening before sunset. ||||I could not have had a better experience, and booked another stay for this fall. When there is a chill in the air, the fog hovers over the river, creating an enchanting atmosphere. Rio Bella would be perfect for a getaway...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJust back from our first visit to Rio Bella Resort. First, their website is both comprehensive and informative. Extremely well done, and booking is a breeze! Was not only able to get familiar with the property, but was also able to check out each "cabin" ("cabin" doesn't really do these luxury units justice!) they have available to enjoy! While similar, it's as if each unit has it's own personality! Each cabin has a large balcony overlooking the beautiful Frio River. A historic dam adds to the charm of this welcoming property! My wife and I only spent 2 nights during our first stay at Rio Bella, but it wildly exceeded our expectations! Neat, clean, accommodating, and very comfortable! Most everything you need for your "Home away from home" stay is supplied. The units and the grounds are equally beautiful! The river - outstanding! Lastly, while we didn't get to meet the entire staff, the folks we DID meet - AnaLisa, Carole, and Christie - couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating! We LOVED our short stay at Rio Bella Resort (we had the Sabine unit), and have already booked a three night stay for next Spring! Now, just can't wait to return for our next visit and I'm sure we will...
Ā Ā Ā Read morešThis lil gem is definitely worth the trip! We wanted to escape from the city for fresh air, a lil nature and R&R, re: covid-19, 2020. Analisa was absolutely an amazing host! Their office has basic water supplies like aloe vera, water shoes, cute tees, sunglasses, waterproof phone cases, etc. (which we bought all of and more, ha!) The cabins are completely stocked with pretty much everything you need, including the bbq utensils! You do need to bring trash bags but I didnāt know and she was gracious enough to leave some out for us after hours. The entire grounds are very well maintained with on-site Kayak and Paddle boards to rent. River access is right there, multiple entrances. My son and his gf really got a kick out of the grounds cat, Baylee. Iām sure youāll be greeted by her, too. āŗļø Note: we ended up grocery shopping at the HEB in Hondo, about an hr out. The town also has smaller and locally owned grocers that I would have loved to support! We will next time. All in all, we absolutely enjoyed our short stay at Rio Bella and will absolutely be returning, hopefully very...
