Was really excited to make our first booking at The Inn Between, for a weekend getaway just my wife and I. The booking process seemed fairly straight forward. You chose which cabin you would like and then see what dates are available. If it's not available then the days on the calendar are block out. Lucky for us the days we wanted were available; so we chose our dates, made our payment, and received the confirmation email soon after. That should have been the end of it until our check in. But, unfortunately we ended up getting a call from Jake of the Inn Between saying that they had a "mix up" and our cabin was already reserved. Jake was nice enough but only gave us the options of either cancelling for a refund or getting a different cabin that would cost more. There wasn't any understanding on their part and made it seem as if we were inconveniencing them and didn't want to give any additional effort to make it right. They cancelled our reservation without our consent and pretty much told us to move along. They turned what should have been a delightful trip into a slap in the face. My wife and I frequent state parks many times every year and almost every weekend during the summers, especially since we get in free as a disabled veteran. The customer service and treatment they show towards guests is shameful and not worth your time. I would recommend staying somewhere else...
Read moreWe own three homes on the Frio and manage over 50 short-term rentals, so it’s rare that we come across a place that truly impresses us—but The Inn Between did just that and more. With all of our properties fully booked, we decided on a last-minute getaway with the kids and stumbled upon the A-Frame at The Inn Between. What a blessing in disguise!
From the moment we arrived, we could tell the owners get it. Every detail of the A-Frame was intentional, thoughtful, and clearly built with heart. The craftsmanship, design, and comfort level rival the best in the business. It’s not often we find another operator who executes short-term rentals at such a high level—and it was incredibly refreshing and inspiring to experience it firsthand.
But more than just a beautiful stay, it was the moments that made it unforgettable. The time spent around the campfire with my wife and son created memories we’ll cherish forever. It was the kind of trip that reminded us why we do what we do.
Thank you to the amazing hosts for sharing your passion and creating a space that radiates warmth, care, and excellence. We can’t wait to return!

Read moreI hate to write this review as I was very excited about the visit with my family but I want to make sure that other families go in with a realistic expectation. All the pictures make it looks great. And truly this place could be. But yards are overgrown, furniture outdoor is completely trash. The animals area and the greenhouse was not maintained either. It felt like a trailer park and was very off putting. Clearly someone put this place together with a lot of heart, you can see that with the small touches but the maintenance is not there and it feels like trash.
The rooms were okay, but everything outside the house was just so neglected that hampered my whole experience. We spent minimum time at the location because of it. We left a day early.
I did not take any photos. I wish I had but it was just not somewhere you want to take your family, couples might be okay...
