My husband and I with our 4 year old stayed here for almost a week in January. We had an excellent stay! We were in one of the Dragonfly rooms. Our room had a door that led directly into the kitchen which was awesome since we utilized it frequently. The balcony was my favorite spot! They had 2 hammocks and every night I'd relax listening to the ocean and watching the 2 geckos that showed up in the corner near the ceiling every night. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable, but definitely needed more pillows. One downside was no air conditioner. Normally that wouldn't bother me but there wasn't good air flow through the room so it was HOT at night. There were two fans but they were loud and every night I struggled to sleep well because of being so hot. There was a retreat group there so vegan breakfast was included with our stay. I really enjoyed it and it was a good opportunity to mingle with other guests. I really think the breakfast needs to be offered more consistently. It was a little confusing to figure out if there would or wouldn't be food. But the food was some of the best I've ever had. And they were more than happy to accommodate a 4 year old who isn't into trying anything unfamiliar and we aren't vegan. The grounds were huge but we didn't really explore them. There was a pool but we didn't use it. Most of our time was spent at the beach or the amazing playground in town. Overall I'd highly recommend this place for anyone looking to relax at a quiet retreat with great views. It was close enough to beaches and town to be convenient, even with a 4 year old. I think there's some room for them to grow but I love staying at a place that is built on eco -friendly practices and a solid mission to do some good in this world. I'd easily overlook the minor...
Read moreFor a girls trip, my friend and I stayed in feather leaf room 3 with 2 queen beds for 4 nights during our week stay in St. croix, which exceeded expectations. I was apprehensive at first about booking a place with no AC (we stayed her in first half of March) but with plenty of windows, sea breeze and multiple fans in the room, we had no problem. Pro tip: wet one of the wash cloths and lay on back of your neck. Honestly slept amazingly which is rare for me when I travel. Make sure to screenshot the arrival info email or have arrival info written down as you lose cell service (you’ll have wifi once you checkin) so you know which room you’re going to, room codes, and gate code (if you’re staying in the main house). Otherwise you might have to wait to flag down someone to help you! Beds were comfy, view was great, clean bathroom with nice hot water - I mean looking out at the ocean while showering was awesome. Room 3 has its own access to the shared kitchen off the balcony which was really nice and convenient (it can only be locked on your end so other guests cannot access the balcony or room 3). Room had plenty of space for 2 people but could be tight with 3 or 4 people. We had no problem on the roads or driveway in our little sedan rental (driveway is unpaved and some potholes in the road leading to feather leaf - drive slow and you’ll be fine). Owners also provide a variety of snorkeling gear for guests to borrow. Highly recommend snorkeling around the Pier! Also no roosters in this part so don’t have to worry about them waking you. Other guests staying were quiet and respectful. They were able to accommodate a late checkout for us as our flight home wasn’t until the afternoon. We never used the pool but enjoyed walking around the property. Quick drive into town and...
Read moreMy spouse and I are just back from a fabulous stay at the Feather Leaf Inn. We stayed in the Tamarind room which faces the ocean and also has two windows on the side of the room for great breezes. Each night we were lulled to sleep by the sound of crashing waves and could see amazing stars just outside the window.||From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and at home. Everyone on staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Additionally, the other guests were nice to talk to and get to know. ||The breakfasts were awesome! Everything was very fresh and filling. We are vegan and vegetarian, but the omnivores staying at the inn were equally wowed by the food. We especially enjoyed the homemade yogurt, fresh smoothies and hot out of the oven focaccia bread. There was even a day of Swedish pancakes made by a young person from Sweden. ||If you get the opportunity to take a tour of the property that Ryan gives, definitely do it. The history is very interesting and the mission that he and Corina have undertaken as stewards of the land and ocean is impressive. Ryan also does a great job with recommendations for activities in the area. ||We would recommend renting a four wheel drive vehicle to get around as the roads in St Croix have a lot of potholes (though you can get by without it).||One of our favorite activities was exploring the tide pools across the street from the inn. There were beautiful shells, little fish and crabs along with amazing blue water. We also loved looking at all the plants, lizards, birds, etc. Probably the best part was just recharging and relaxing sitting on rocking chairs on the porch and looking at the sea. ||The Feather Leaf Inn is an outstanding place...
