DON’T CONSIDER STAYING HERE! Horrible management & ownership!! 8 of us booked 4 rooms for 4 nights. 6 of us requested king size beds, which were confirmed upon booking, but when we arrived, only 1 room had a king bed and the rest of the rooms had 2 queens. This was not a big deal, but not what we were confirmed. The huge deal was that they charged us for an extra (5th) night and they knew we only stayed for 4 nights! An extra $283.16!! THE GENERAL MANAGER, ANDRE WAS SUCH A JERK AND REFUSED TO UNDERSTAND THAT WE ONLY STAYED FOR 4 NIGHTS AND HE CHARGED US FOR FIVE! I tried to politely explain that we only booked for 4 nights, but he insisted that we booked for 5, and, in his rude little brain, insisted that we were “no shows” the first night, so he had to charge us. We were not “no shows!” We didn’t even fly into St. Croix until Friday, but he charged us for Thursday. We only booked for 4 nights and stayed for 4 nights. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THIS PLACE SUCKS! Furthermore, one of the desk clerks told us we could use the additional charges that they were insisting on charging us for incidentals, like food and/or drinks at their restaurants. But each time when we ate at their restaurant, they refused to allow the charges to be charged to our room(s) or charged as “incidentals.” They made us pay via cash or credit card each time we ate at their restaurant. We tried to discuss this with the Hotel Owner (I don’t know her name, but she was super-rude to one of my friends), but she basically hid from us so she could avoid/ignore the situation. By the way, their food sucked! The only good thing I will say about this place is that the rooms are cute and the views are spectacular, but there are tons of other places that will give you proper service, so I would NEVER RECOMMEND STAYING AT THE GRAPETREE BAY HOTEL & VILLAS (PS: there...
Read moreMy 65 year old Veteran Father was told by security that he had 1 hour to vacate the premises before the police were called. In a panic me, my wife, my mother and my father packed up everything after only staying for one night. Earlier in that day my father, after playing a round of golf with me, returned to the hotel around 11:30 AM and my father was having an issue using the keypad to get into his room (where his diabetic medicine was) he felt his sugar getting low and went to the lobby for help. He was panicking and couldn't get assistance, and raised his voice, he even used the “F” word a few times. Nobody was hurt. Nothing was damaged. No laws were broken. No threats were made. HOWEVER, now the hotel is only refunding my parent’s room and not refunding my room. My wife (a registered nurse) and I work very hard and paying $2,349 for a hotel for a week takes time to save up for. Now, i need to pay that and cannot stay there with my family because they want to keep my money? This seems alotta closer to corporate greed than island living? The hotel manager told me that they are only kicking out your dad. I asked the manager if this seemed excessive, i said nobody got hurt, to which the manager responded “well nobody was physically hurt.” So now because my dad hurt somebody’s feelings, you get to steal $2,349 from me.
The owner has refused to speak to me. I just want this explained. Two day ago the front desk agent and security guard told me to leave the property immediately. My parent’s money has been refunded, but I was told that the hotel will be keeping my money, even though staff looked me in the eyes and said “you cannot explain yourself or have a conversation about this, you have 1 hour to leave.” When no laws or rules were...
Read moreWe arrived on a Thursday afternoon and headed out to stay in our airbnb location, and unfortunately, we were met with a not so clean / updated property. At this point, it was getting late, and we decided to pull the plug and look for another location to spend our vacation. We were feverishly searching and calling properties around the island with the amenities and price range we were looking for. To make a long story short, Grapetree Hotel and Villas was one of those calls. Trystan answered the phone at 9:30 p.m. and by the end of the call, we were booked. We arrived around 10:30 p.m. and he checked us in, showed us our rooms, and explained what the property had to offer. In other words, he took a personal interest in making us feel very welcomed. The rooms were inviting, cooled down, clean, and updated, and the views were awesome. The staff here was great. To name a few, John, Will, and one of the owners, Josh, along with his wife, engaged us in good conversation and enlightened us regarding the recent renovation of the first phase. I encourage you to read the story of this property. It sat dormant for 30 years until it was purchased a few years back, and renovations began. In addition, it has 2 bars and a restaurant with very good food and Sunday brunch. I would not hesitate to stay here when we visit the...
