DON’T CONSIDER STAYING HERE! Horrible management & ownership!! 8 of us booked 4 rooms for 4 nights. 6 of us requested king size beds, which were confirmed upon booking, but when we arrived, only 1 room had a king bed and the rest of the rooms had 2 queens. This was not a big deal, but not what we were confirmed. The huge deal was that they charged us for an extra (5th) night and they knew we only stayed for 4 nights! An extra $283.16!! THE GENERAL MANAGER, ANDRE WAS SUCH A JERK AND REFUSED TO UNDERSTAND THAT WE ONLY STAYED FOR 4 NIGHTS AND HE CHARGED US FOR FIVE! I tried to politely explain that we only booked for 4 nights, but he insisted that we booked for 5, and, in his rude little brain, insisted that we were “no shows” the first night, so he had to charge us. We were not “no shows!” We didn’t even fly into St. Croix until Friday, but he charged us for Thursday. We only booked for 4 nights and stayed for 4 nights. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THIS PLACE SUCKS! Furthermore, one of the desk clerks told us we could use the additional charges that they were insisting on charging us for incidentals, like food and/or drinks at their restaurants. But each time when we ate at their restaurant, they refused to allow the charges to be charged to our room(s) or charged as “incidentals.” They made us pay via cash or credit card each time we ate at their restaurant. We tried to discuss this with the Hotel Owner (I don’t know her name, but she was super-rude to one of my friends), but she basically hid from us so she could avoid/ignore the situation. By the way, their food sucked! The only good thing I will say about this place is that the rooms are cute and the views are spectacular, but there are tons of other places that will give you proper service, so I would NEVER RECOMMEND STAYING AT THE GRAPETREE BAY HOTEL & VILLAS (PS: there...

My 65 year old Veteran Father was told by security that he had 1 hour to vacate the premises before the police were called. In a panic me, my wife, my mother and my father packed up everything after only staying for one night. Earlier in that day my father, after playing a round of golf with me, returned to the hotel around 11:30 AM and my father was having an issue using the keypad to get into his room (where his diabetic medicine was) he felt his sugar getting low and went to the lobby for help. He was panicking and couldn't get assistance, and raised his voice, he even used the “F” word a few times. Nobody was hurt. Nothing was damaged. No laws were broken. No threats were made. HOWEVER, now the hotel is only refunding my parent’s room and not refunding my room. My wife (a registered nurse) and I work very hard and paying $2,349 for a hotel for a week takes time to save up for. Now, i need to pay that and cannot stay there with my family because they want to keep my money? This seems alotta closer to corporate greed than island living? The hotel manager told me that they are only kicking out your dad. I asked the manager if this seemed excessive, i said nobody got hurt, to which the manager responded “well nobody was physically hurt.” So now because my dad hurt somebody’s feelings, you get to steal $2,349 from me.

The owner has refused to speak to me. I just want this explained. Two day ago the front desk agent and security guard told me to leave the property immediately. My parent’s money has been refunded, but I was told that the hotel will be keeping my money, even though staff looked me in the eyes and said “you cannot explain yourself or have a conversation about this, you have 1 hour to leave.” When no laws or rules were...

We arrived on a Thursday afternoon and headed out to stay in our airbnb location, and unfortunately, we were met with a not so clean / updated property. At this point, it was getting late, and we decided to pull the plug and look for another location to spend our vacation. We were feverishly searching and calling properties around the island with the amenities and price range we were looking for. To make a long story short, Grapetree Hotel and Villas was one of those calls. Trystan answered the phone at 9:30 p.m. and by the end of the call, we were booked. We arrived around 10:30 p.m. and he checked us in, showed us our rooms, and explained what the property had to offer. In other words, he took a personal interest in making us feel very welcomed. The rooms were inviting, cooled down, clean, and updated, and the views were awesome. The staff here was great. To name a few, John, Will, and one of the owners, Josh, along with his wife, engaged us in good conversation and enlightened us regarding the recent renovation of the first phase. I encourage you to read the story of this property. It sat dormant for 30 years until it was purchased a few years back, and renovations began. In addition, it has 2 bars and a restaurant with very good food and Sunday brunch. I would not hesitate to stay here when we visit the...

We were staying at a home right next to the hotel during Maria and we're thrilled when we found that someone was renovating this gem. During our trip last week, we decided to stay a few extra days just so that we could stay at Grapetree Bay Hotel! Julie was extremely helpful arranging for our arrival and departure in one of the oceanfront villas, which was absolutely beautiful. From the decor, to the view, to the privacy – – all of my expectations were met and exceeded. We had dinner for the second time on Saturday night and everything was delicious. The cocktails were fun and refreshing, the edamame and salad were tasty and our sushi and Katsu chicken was so good. My husband had breakfast the next morning and the restaurant and brought me back a few bites, making me wish that I had joined him. We have decided that we will make book ending our home stay at this hotel a new tradition. Although Grapetree Bay is on the far east end of the island, STX is one of those places that you should always rent a vehicle anyway, and downtown Christian instead is maybe 20 minutes away, so it is worth the drive. "Smuggler's Cove" is our favorite beach and just across the island! This would also be a great staycation for residence, because everything you would need is on site.

My wife and I stayed at the Grapetree for a week in early November 2022. The weather was perfect! The hotel is recently renovated, having been virtually destroyed by several hurricanes. The hotel is very remote, so to enjoy the island, we rented a jeep at the airport. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. Every morning we were greeted by a continental breakfast just off the lobby. I then spent an hour or so in the spacious and virtually unvisited gym. We hiked from the hotel to the very remote Jacks Beach, Isaacs Beach, and Point Udall. On the island, we drove to the very colorful towns of Frederiksted and Christiansted where we browsed the shops and had lunch. We enjoyed excellent snorkeling on the island, especially at Canes Bay. Afterwards we enjoyed fresh seafood at The Landing, conveniently located right across the road. We dined most evenings at one of the two restaurants at the Grapetree: the main restaurant by the pool which has fine dining on the weekends, and the East End bar serving mainly pizza and salads. Both restaurants are VERY good and reasonably priced. On the East End patio, on two evenings we enjoyed the music of talented local musicians. Overall we had a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation!
