Nancy is absolutely wonderful to talk to. Super friendly! We camped in RV's for 2 nights and self shuttled to do a 15 mile float.
We stayed on the Ridge in the RV full electric spots (she was a bit higher than other places, but didn't require a minimum night stay). The spots are very spacious and extremely shaded, tons of trees, however, very difficult to navigate around of the trees. I'm glad we didn't meet another truck pulling a trailer as the road is only wide enough for 1 vehicle. We weren't really sure where to park, or how to park.. There is a number at the road, but the electric box isn't marked, we made it work and enjoyed our stay. Maybe 3 sites all weekend, so very peaceful.
Dump station, was difficult to find, but once Nancy told us where to look, we found it. The way we parked, as we went out, our septic was on the opposite side and the dump station was uphill. If we'd had pulled through our site and facing the exit, we wouldn't have been able to get turned around to use the dump station. Just a heads up, look around before you get nestled into your spot.
Take out on the water, was another story. We were not warned that the take out is right at a rapid area and fast moving water. It did pose a problem for some of our group. The ones behind watching the mess unfold, chose to get out before the rapids and walk their kayaks to the ramp.
We didn't use the cabins, but look aged and I'm sure the flooding the last couple yrs haven't helped.
Will we stay...
Read moreWilderness Ridge Resort in Duke Missouri really got it right for me and my 2 besties today!! We decided last minute to do a float trip before the summer ends and we called Wilderness Ridge Resort and one other company to see if they could accommodate us for 3 kayaks on a Sunday mind you., and we were calling on the Thursday before the day we all had a day we could get together to do a float trip. One of us lives in Cook Station, one in licking, and one in St. Louis. So it’s hard for us to find a day all three of us can do something together. Wilderness Ridge Resort was the only company to promptly call us back and reserved us 3 kayaks for the day we wanted and the lady that called us back was so nice and informative about what the cost would be and about how long the float trip would take and even how the weather would be on the day of our float trip. I highly recommend this place to anyone searching for a great day on the water with friends. We were treated right on the reservation phone call and were treated right from the time we got there to the time we left. They even helped us get our stuff from the kayaks to our car after the trip was over. And they did all that with smiles on their faces. We appreciate Wilderness Ridge Resort and will definitely be back year...
Read moreI called and reserved a simple order of two rafts a month and a half out from my camping trip. With less than a week until my trip, she leaves me a message that states she will not uphold my reservation and i must now find rafts myself with less than a week, during the busiest time of year. After calling back 10 times, it took a online message for her to call me back. On the phone she informs me, at first, that she is giving other customers the rafts i had reserved, who had ordered after my call, then changes to saying she has absolutely no rafts anymore. To top it off, this lady intentionally hangs up on me. I was not disrespectful in anyway to her or this place of business. This is one of the most disrespectful and unprofessional occasions i have dealt with. They do not deserve any business from anyone. Peck’s last resort, right next door is what you are looking for in an amazing camping trip, float trip, and friendly and very helpful environment...
