My teenage son was invited to an overnight birthday/pool party here one weekend. Upon checking the facility, we got curious so we (the parents) decided to check-in here last minute for ourselves too. I was pleasantly surprise as the room was clean and well kept. The furniture esp. the bed was new. Comfortable. There's was 2 queen size bed yet the there's plenty more space to move about. In fact, we brought in a mahjong table and couple of portable chairs. We also invited a couple of people so we can play mahjong in the room. Very spacious. A/C was new and cold. Bathroom was fully equipped with toiletries; water pressure, hot water was tops. The pool side was fun and aesthetically dreamy. It has an "island" feel to it. We joined the birthday party so it was even more fun with all the extra decors, chairs and tent around. I thought the little kiddie pool was a nice touch, as well as the beach volleyball court. The teens had a good time here for sure. There's also lifeguard on duty so we feel secure letting our teen roam around the pool area and swim freely. The staff seem friendly when approached. Not as welcoming as I would prefer but they were not rude nor cold either. They are there when needed and they do help when asked. That kind of vibe. Not an issue to me. Just thought I'd mention it. They have breakfast for $10 per head which was actually a good deal esp. it's a good size portion and quite a selection too. You can either have it delivered to your room or have it at the lobby/cafe type area by the lobby. There's also a mini store inside the hotel where you can purchase snacks (water, juice, sodas, nuts, chips) and other necessities like individually pack headache medicine, etc. There's a few small downsides here to mention. One, there's no elevator. There's three floors and we were assigned on the 2nd floor. Not bad but imagine being on the 3rd floor. Lugging your suitcase, mahjong table and chairs was not easy for old geezer like. Second, the poor sound proofing. You can hear people talk, walk or run by the hallway. You can hear TV sounds from next door and you can hear chairs or people rustling above us. I wasn't too bothered with this, to be honest. Maybe because it was weekend and we were there to have fun. We were also up and awake most of the time (until late). However, if you are the type who wants a quiet hotel to rest or recuperate, esp. to sleep in... this might not be the best hotel for you. This is more of a fun staycation hotel, which locals use for birthdays or party's. ||Over all, a well thought of local hotel. It's clean (- which is very important to us), well maintained, comfortable, convenient and spacious (important for parties or get-together). It's has that perfect atmosphere (and local rate), if you want to have an enjoyable...
Read moreThis is our 2nd time choosing Paradiso Hotel & Spa, and both our experiences were great (10/10). If you are looking for a hotel to stay at, choose Paradiso. The price is reasonable, the beds are COMFORTABLE, and the room and restroom are clean. There is a funky smell to the roo. When you first enter, but that is most likely from the room not being used before you. Maybe a plug-in freshener can be put in, or the room can be sprayed with freshener before the day the guest(s) are checking in. Just a suggestion, but not a big deal, the smell does go away. A great thing about Paradiso is check-in is at 3, we were able to check in...
Read moreThey took our security deposit. The website also says on weekends the pool closes at 9PM, but NO they close at 6PM which we didn’t know about and they didn’t bother to inform us until 5:55PM and we were having a family day. We rented a room and we only had to check in at 3PM, which gave us only 3 hours to swim and the next day we had to checkout at 12PM, which is when the pool opens. They also don’t allow guests after 10PM, even if you say they’re staying there for the night, so if you’re staying there you would have to be in the room by 10PM....
