I love the Chateau! I've stayed twice now and there are so many wonderful things about this place, with a few significant cons that may deter some people depending on your lifestyle and needs. Its in a very unique spot and perfect for if you have business in Salinas or play in Monterey and surrounding attractions. It's in a peaceful residential community, so no hustle or bustle or noise from the streets. There are hiking trails and parks just outside the doors. Some sense of security is present from the Las Palmas security guard who is sometimes at the booth in daytime or making rounds in the community at night.
The pros: Beautiful rooms, pretty spacious. Antique, cozy decor lots of lounge areas, or areas to walk in beautiful grounds coffee, tea, plates, etc in the kitchen (no breakfast or food available) decent wifi plenty of parking feels very homey and quiet. Don't really see staff around which I kind of like. amazing bathroom and shower, all the amenities you need just lots of cute touches and little things, games, magazines books in the front room, etc
The cons: there is no staff on site for most of the day unless it's housekeeping or grounds. The 24/7 phone line sounds like a call center not locally based there is no AC and of course they don't tell you that before booking lol. Though there are controls in each room and vents so either they just don't use it or it's broken?? They do offer fans in the rooms. It gets hot and stuffy during the day but at night I've not had a problem opening the window and running the plug in fan, except this time my fan started making some horrible grinding noises when it was rotating so they should upgrade those... The first time I stayed there were no screens on the windows so kinda sucks if bugs get in. The second time I did have a screen in my bedroom window but not the bathroom. No fridge or microwave in your room, only a communal one. Not a big deal for microwave, but for fridge I think that is kinda lame. While most people look nice here, I still worry someone could mess with it. And if you had medications you needed to keep Refrigerated like insulin, it would also not be very safe. no Elevator from what I can tell, and I think almost all the rooms are upstairs, and the front entrance is up a few steps as well with no ramp. So if you are elderly or disabled, I would not recommend staying here. The beds aren't the worst hotel beds I've ever slept on, but they are not comfortable in the 2 different rooms I've stayed in so far. Could benefit from a memory foam mattress topper at the very least. You can definitely feel the springs. Pillows are also very flat and not supportive, so bring your own! Walls are pretty thin and it's an old building so you will hear all kinds of noises, but for the most part people are quiet when they're not walking around. Don't hear any children or parties happening.
Overall I prefer this over the local Salinas hotels by far, and the price is great for the value. But if you are disabled such that climbing steps is difficult or not possible for you, if you are elderly, have young children, or run hot body temp wise, I would opt for a...
Read moreWe booked a week long stay, but only ended up staying 1 night. The whole experience was just “ Off”. I received a call about a week ahead of time requesting my credit card information even though I had pre-paid through a third party. I was told it was for incidentals, I gave the number, but felt a little weird about it because this is usually done upon checking in. The day of our arrival a code was texted to me to get in our room. When we arrived at the hotel there was nobody around to check us in. After walking into the main building and seeing no people, we just went to the room number texted to us and entered the code, more like an Air B and B then a Hotel. When we got into our room there was a paper and pen on the table with a document that we were supposed to sign and a weird hotel book, which was written very poorly and talked about “Karma” “Giving my phone a break” and being “Evicted” it was bizarre. Didn’t like it, and it didn’t make feel comfortable or welcomed. Looking around the room it was not as pictured in the photos online, the furnishings and drapes were different. The rooms smelled musty and the carpeting looked original, very worn. Our allergies started going crazy! The bed was not up to our expectations, it had 2 very flat worn out pillows, and a springy worn out mattress. In the bathroom the toilet was leaking water around the seal and the tub jets didn’t work. Their were spider webs in the bedroom above the bed and in the sitting area. The TV remote didn’t work for the TV in the sitting area and there was no TV in the bedroom. I really really wanted to like this place, I once lived in Las Palmas and was excited to stay in the house I drove by and admired each day. We even debated buying extra pillows and bedding and making the best of it, but our allergies wouldn’t take it, we woke up the next morning miserable. So we packed up and left. I have to say, they were very nice about refunding me for the rest of my stay. However, when I called the local number I believe I was connected to a call center, again weird. I loved the vintage vibe of the hotel, but they need to work on getting better mattresses, bedding, pillows etc. and maybe airing out the rooms before arrivals and updating the flooring. Also overall maintenance and cleanliness of the rooms. Lastly, I found the hotel guest room binder very rude and unprofessional, not a great first impression. Good thing I don’t believe in “Karma” or else I might have been scared off from writing this review. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this property at this time. However, if it changed ownership and improvements are made, I’d...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of staying at Chateau Coralini. We booked the entire property to accommodate our large wedding party. The rooms were spacious, high-end, and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is a chefs dream and the wine cellar was a great hangout spot equipped with table tennis and billiards.
We also hosted our rehearsal dinner in the courtyard. It’s a beautiful, well maintained area, with a gazebo and life size doll house that’s a replica of the chateau (a huge hit for kids!). Chairs and tables were available for us, so we didn’t have to purchase rentals. We loved the privacy, stunning views, amenities, and the elegant charm of it all. It felt truly magical and a great place for wedding photos/videos. Our guests cannot stop raving about the chateau and we ended up extending our stay another night to provide some respite from a long wedding weekend.
As for staff, we had an excellent experience with everyone we spoke to. In particular, we want to give a special shout out to Sweety. Thank you for your attentiveness, genuine care, and going out of your way to help us out. You and your staff played a significant role in making our wedding weekend an unforgettable experience for us and our loved ones. We can’t wait to go back!
We wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone planning a special event or simply seeking a remarkable getaway. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed! There’s so many beautiful spaces on the property, you can’t go wrong.
Thank you once again for the exceptional service and for creating memories that will last a...
