Lake Dunmore Kampersville — Hotel in Salisbury

I have been a camper for many years at Kampersville some weekends and full weeks we have been nothing but respectful to Holly . Last year my son showed up unannounced and dropped off he had a few beers at the campsite was completely fine. As the night went on he left we figured he knew others in the campground he's a adult I had enough grandchildren to be caring for he was not my concern where he was. It was a Saturday night so they were having a dj in the rec room something we don't attend my husband and myself and grandchildren went to bed I was woke up by people outside my camper I got up and it was my son with 2 gentleman 1 being security a young boy and the other was a boy that knew my son they told me he started trouble and was removed there was a security guard waiting at gate for police. I was nothing but kind to the gentleman and agreed to the police coming and removing him I did not agree at all with my sons actions. While waiting I put my son in our camper so there was no disturbance outside where other families were he ended up falling asleep on the couch I remained waiting for the officer to come 1.5 hrs later my phone rang it was the police asking of his where abouts I told him sleeping he asked if I thought he was going to remain sleeping I said I'm sure he's passed out he told me he was going to call Holly and let her know he was in the camper sleeping and see if she wanted to pursue with him coming out or just having him leave in the morning. Officer called back and stated he had to leave in the morning I said ok absolutely and I'll make sure he doesn't return meaning if we came back camping at all that summer. Sunday morning came and are week was over so we packed up and left never saw Holly no one like nothing even happened that afternoon I got a message which I kept all of them with her down grading not only my son our whole family and told us we were banned from her campground I was so disturbed by this because something that had nothing to do with all of us turned out to be everyone of us ..She is a horrible person that should be ashamed of herself as a business woman her campground a disgrace the whole week we were there the rec hall was closed Sunday Thursday but the money pit arcade was open 6:00 am till 9 or 10 at night. No activities for young children threw the week the squirter part off pool never ran nor the mushroom for the Littles. No more hay rides and when you take the kiddos to playground for a hour or two no where for adults to sit and watch there children the benches have all been removed. The campsites are never upgraded there's many sites that have bolder rocks on them so children need to be careful when running around there campsite not to fall and hit there head on a rock . I’ve stayed at Kampersville many times in my life, and after this most recent trip I would not recommend it even as a last resort. I was there for 9 days and over the course of 3 of those days there was a girl whom tried to drive while heavily under the influence straight towards a group of children waiting to ride the hay wagon. Thankfully, several quick acting campers intervened to prevent almost certain tragedy. The police were called as the owner of the campground was unavailable. There was also a domestic assault that happened where a guy punched his girlfriend in the face and took off through my campsite trying to run from the police and yet another incident that occurred where two teenage campers threatened to shoot up a group of kids infront of myself and my young children. Again the campground owner was unreachable when I tried to express my concerns and again several hours later when I tried to file a complaint. I sought out security which is no easy task as there are no emergency numbers posted and had to go through a woman whom was cleaning the bathrooms. While I was assured that security did confront the two teenagers they were not asked to leave because the boys had been drinking.

As an educator we are taught every threat is a viable threat and can’t be ignored because that’s the time there are dire consequences; apparently the campground owner doesn’t understand this. I say all the more reason to call the police because any/every threat is a viable threat but more so when alcohol or substances are involved. At the very least those two boys should have been escorted to the gate and a responsible party should have been called to get them. Rented a site for season at kampersville on lake dunmore right before this stuff with covid19 happened and had to back out because My father and I are high risk and I never signed any papers agreeing on charging me for a refund she tried to lie to me and say I did until I said I have a copy of the one paper I signed and says nothing about refunds or fees at all and then even offered to let her keep $200 of $3800 I paid 4 months ago and she hung up on me!!and took $550 for nothing never had a camper there or anything!!! and didn’t agree to it not one time verbal or written and she never said a word about taking $500 until I wanted a refund then it’s oh, I have to take $500 out for canceling the site which is total rip off it’s not my fault this all happened cause we wanted to go there and where Looking forward To it untill I seen her real colors today and couldn’t believe she is treating people like this right now when I’m sure she already has other people wanting the site even seen it myself on her Facebook post but yet you have to take money from me after you had $3800 of My money for 4 months for nothing at all never been there once and then she gave me a check with $550 out of it and ran to her car and took off cause she knew she was ripping Me off like really lady u don’t deserve any business treating ppl like this so if ur thinking about going here save ur Money I wouldn’t recommend it at all and talked to lawyer and it’s not even legal.
