We have gone on family trips to the Hyatt locations in Texas for a decade, including the Hyatt Residence Club in San Antonio last year. We decided to make the trek to Florida for what we thought would be as great as previous, but in a prettier setting.
Well, the setting was great, but that's where the joy ended. From the moment we got to our room, it was warm. The smaller room's AC worked great, but the two room "master" suite did not. Specifically, the actual bedroom seemed to get no cold air, so it was hot enough that it was hard to sleep. We inquired and asked for help about an hour after we checked in. The maintenance man said it seemed fine from what he could see (just checking the air temp at the vents) and to give it some time to cool from the 75 it was at the thermostat. Six hours later, when it was still 75 at the stat (remember our room was much hotter, as every person who checked agreed), we called again and the maintenance guy sprayed some coil cleaner to no effect. The hotel offered a room swap, but only for half of us, which would mean we were leaving our smaller kids in the single room while we were upstairs. Also, they had us come to them to get a key as opposed to bringing it to us.
The next day, troubles continued, and so they texted in the morning to find a time to send an actual AC guy. I texted right back as I was up (hard to sleep in the hot stagnant room), and yet the front desk still called, waking up several people that were sleeping. This next AC guy may or may not have done anything, and the hotel took the stance that it was fine since the thermostat was holding at 73 (again, the bedroom itself was HOT). When we continued to ask for help, they setup a portable AC in our room, which helped with the temp, but made it more humid since it was now letting the humid air in.
We had asked for a manager to meet with us to discuss some sort of resolution to our terrible first few days (between the non working AC and the poor service in dealing with it). The third day, he came with a different maintenance guy who again said it seemed to be working fine based on seeing the vent temp, and we again stressed that the air was barely coming out of the vents and the bedroom in particular was hot and humid. The manager blamed it on the heat. Here's the problem - we had two family units in the same type of room in the same building, and both were having to turn off their air because it was so cold. So unless the FL heat wave was honing in on room 5240, their brushing off our continued requests for help did not make any logical sense.
We managed to make it through the four nights with the cooler but now humid room, but never really had any resolution about the improperly cooled room.
Added to the complaint list, we several times asked for things - Duvet, towels, toiletries, etc - and were either told they did not have them, didn't know what that was, or ended up having to come get them ourselves from the front. We've never had this poor of service from one of these properties, but would definitely suggest spending your dollars or points elsewhere. And this is to say nothing of the poor treatment of the family patriarch who booked the trip. His room was not ready as promised (which typically means the cleaning fee is waived, but they acted as they had never heard that), he was asked repeatedly for ID and credit cards after having provided that at the first room that was ready, and he was led to believe the Resort waterpark was included, only to be told that had changed without notice to Hyatt "owners" - which meant paying a lot more when the decision to travel to Florida was based largely on the idea that we'd be able to use the waterpark daily. No real apology, no attempt to make it right, just a hand put out to ask for more money.
The Texas properties have always been phenomenal, so if you're looking at a Hyatt spot, head to San Antonio. Save money, save LOTS of headaches, and save your vacation from being far less that what...

Read moreAs someone who regularly stays at premium brands like JW Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, and even other Hyatt properties, I expect a higher level of service when I pay full price out of pocket. Unfortunately, this Hyatt Vacation Club location has failed me twice—once in 2024 and again this July 2025.
Most recently, I booked two two-bedroom. I accidentally added an extra night to one reservation, but contacted Hyatt within seconds via their chat system to fix it. A representative confirmed the change and gave me a revised price. But upon check-in, I was told no change had been made and was charged for the extra night anyway. The manager, Mrs. Gonzalez, never came to speak with me—just sent word through the front desk. That lack of basic courtesy was deeply disappointing.
To make things worse, our rooms was not ready for early check-in, and that night, the AC failed in our unit. No one answered the front desk phone. I had to drive to the office and speak to security just to report it. I slept in a hot room and woke up with a headache.
Last year in 2024, I had similarly poor treatment: I tried to upgrade my stay by offering to rent a vacant room next door (adjacent extra bedroom), but was told to call an 800 number—despite the room sitting empty the entire time and they couldn’t guarantee me that I could get the room I need that was attached to our condo . Yet somehow, they still had the nerve to pitch me a timeshare.
This property cares more about sales presentations than guest comfort. I paid full price, declined all promotions, and expected premium service. Instead, I got ignored, overheated, and overcharged.
Only highlight: Angel from food service. Despite my food taking a long time, he took it upon himself to come out and apologize. That’s the level of care Hyatt should be known for. Sadly, it’s the exception here. Food took longer cause I have an allergy and they had to take extra care. But I wanted to highlight is great client service and attention to detail without me even saying anything.
Until this location starts valuing guests over policies and presentations, I can’t recommend it.
Notes. Rooms are nice, clean and spacious, sofa bed you are better off sleeping on the floor. They also offer nice golf course view.
Service wise aside from Angel and the bartender, it’s been poor. It’s like an AirBnB with some community service.
Location: well I don’t find anything that great, but I live in South Florida. It’s a little boring, and so is area. It is near a huge shopping center with lots of franchises results. Beach is 20 mins away. They have a boat ride for 15 mins to go to beach. I don’t plan to go. My best friends own points here and he likes coming here, he says it quiet, which it is. Lazy river pool is nice and so is pool. Although the kid pool at foam on top of water, looked like it need more chemicals. This was around 5 pm so maybe 🤔 chemicals were losing the battle.
Don’t expect hotel service / resort service, I can’t recommend it. Maybe if they costumer service was better and didn’t have issues with rooms, I would stay again for quiet and boring time. If I stayed here a week I would die of boredom.
Also as this review is more towards paid guest, not this place feels a little like a sales convention, they try to get you to attend a timeshare promo, they offer you credits and such feels cheap. I looked on line and what I paid for 1K other get for 199.00 dollars plus a 150.00 resort credit in exchange for two hours. I wouldn’t do it as you can’t leave for 2 hrs.
Overall sucks, if I could get a refund and check out I would. There seems to be a more traditional...
