We went to the Arches restaurant and it was surprisingly amazing. First the service was very attentive to our needs which are minimal but anywho this attention from our very professional, experienced and extremely nice waiter deserve kudos 👍👏 💕... Furthermore, the food was excellent. The on demand homemade guacamole and corn chips were excellent. The New York steak was grilled as I requested medium rare but more on the rare side. My boyfriend ordered the pasta Alfredo with salmon and it was absolutely delicious... and what we were delighted with, is that the food was served in heated plate which keep your food hot longer... and that is professional.... The restaurant had been closed for a while because of the crazy covid it was their first opening day... so the menu is somewhat minimalist, which I find to be great... limit your menu and be very good at what you serve... don't dilute such talent in too many dishes.... In conclusion, please disregard most of the previous discontents' negative comments. Just a bunch of Karens and Joes the plumber... no interests... Remember you are in the middle of nowhere and still you will enjoy a very nice time in the Arches.

The property itself is quite lovely and maintained well. What was VERY disappointing was visiting the only certified dark sky community with the intent of seeing stars to find that your very own accommodation is lit up like Vegas. The exaggerated number of lights and brightness on the buildings and brightly lit empty tennis courts seemed deflating and a stark contrast to the beauty found in the night sky. The rooms were comfortable, standard faire. The females at the front desk seemed indifferent to the guests but, the gentleman who seemed to be the all around maintenance and shuttle driver was so very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is your typical limited choice, overpriced pub type food. Bur, the service was good and the view was nice. Hot tub was fabulous as was the pool and cabanas, (except you have to get towels from reception which is awkward if you have already taken a plunge.) It was nice to have bicycles available for use at anytime although it seemed that more than a few were not in shape to ride. All in all a nice stay which could be so much better with some changes.

Rating: 3.5. |Good enough for the one night we stayed and it served it's purpose. Slightly more 'Motel' than 'Resort & Spa' and could do with an update. Also, breakfast is not included. It's located about a 10 minute drive from the Anza Borrego State Park Visitor Center. ||NOT SO MUCH A 'RESORT' ANY MORE|The spa was closed while we were there. The tennis courts looked a bit dusty and dilapidated/unused when we drove by. According to reviews, the golf course is closed. Unfortunately, we didn't get time to use the pool and hot tub, but it looked decent. I think charging a resort fee is a little much, honestly. ||CLEAN, SPACIOUS ROOM|The room itself was very spacious and clean and with all the amenities like a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee machine, mini bar sink, flat screen TV, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, alarm clock with usb ports, couch, desk, complimentary robes, luggage rack, toiletries, 1 extra set of towels, large balcony with table and chairs. ||MORNING SUNRISE TO DIE FOR|The building we were in was very quiet, but there weren't many other guests. The first room we were offered was by the pool and had a gaggle of kids staying in the next room, so we asked to move. This was a blessing, as the morning sunrise view from our new room (Bldg 4) was off-the-charts and made the entire stay worth it. ||Attractive lobby with seating and vending machine. ||Pleasant staff, although one front desk person held a conversation in Spanish to anther staff member in front of me, which I find rude.||Ample free parking. ||If I was visiting Anza Borrego, I would stay here again. ||Note: I recommend Red Ocotillo for breakfast, located off...

First stayed here about 10 years ago for my friends bachelor party and the ensuing wedding recepton. The married couple were both educated and the associated wedding party of 60-70 were an educated bunch which certainly appreciated the mellow casual atmosphere of the resort, surrouding beauty of the desert and simple yet sophisticated hospitality. Definitely not pretentious.. the groom, and I are fraternity bros and we both are competitive boxers that liker to ride motorcycles and roll with a pretty eclectic bunch. So needless to say we were not gonna be content with a serene 3 day weekend sipping martinis by the pool with limited nudity and a pool closing time before midnight. The room and property are spread out enough that we got away with a rather boisterous bachelor party one night...the resulted in some lewd conduct by severfal of the party .....no harm no foul in the end. My guests indulged in lewd conduct on a larger scale and invite several friends of ours enjoying some wild naked fun in the the comfortable confines of our hotel room where we can relax and be free to relax and enjoy ourselves to the greatest extent. And we never heard any complaints from staff about the dozen or so guys/girls that were crammed into my hotel room till the next morning.... The golfing was so great that we stayed an extra day beond what we originally planned. And I even go a full body massage that was relaxing...but would have enjoyed a four hand massage but wasn't...
