We very much enjoyed our stay at this campground! Many of the campsites were fairly secluded. Campsites 18 and 19 had pretty good privacy and we would definitely stay there again when we return. Beware of lots of poison ivy and mosquitos. The hosts, the rangers, and the staff were all very friendly! The plumbing bathrooms were NOT operational. The drop toilet was well cared for, so we didn't mind, but it was certainly a surprise. The water from the spigot was quite brown, so if that bothers you, bring your own. The hiking was breathtaking and it was a joy to watch kayakers on the rapids. Hiking on the Wolf Creek Trail to the waterfall was dreamy and unforgettable! It required climbing on and around rocks, so be mindful. Can't wait to return one day!

Spent the weekend here during MEA. Still a bit of fall color left. Camping sites are roomy. Nice trails however, the hike to Wolf Creek Falls is quite difficult if you're not in good shape. Had to abandon it after going in a mile. Wish we would have known that beforehand. Boat launch area at the river and Dragon's Teeth Rapids are quite beautiful and very popular for walking and hiking. Vault toilets are well maintained and there's Banning Junction very close by with restaurant, convenience store, gas, and liquor store. Nice place fir the kids and very dog friendly too. Will definitely return next year and hopefully find a way to get to the falls!

Stayed 4 nights at Camper Cabin. There is NO electric, so hubby slept without his c-pap, my bad. Nice deep dark at night, quiet. Went to Pine City Walmart to buy 4 citronella candles, then good. Definitely a hiker's dream, but even Teacher's Overlook did not offer much view of Kettle River. Go if you like deep woods and hiking. Otherwise, nice place to day trip/picnic. There are electric campsites. Bathrooms clean. Glorious in sunlight; buggy and humid if raining. Hold chipmunk visited our lunch campfire. Vault toilets cleaner than other experiences. Friendly, helpful staff!

We rented the camper cabin over Father's Day weekend this place has amazing hiking and it has to feel of the Boundary Waters area but closer to home. There is only one camper cabin so if you want to utilize that you must book ahead but it is great because you can show up packing a lighter load and still feel as though you are camping the cabin has no electricity no AC no heat it's just a beds and a solid structure that comes in handy during Stormy Weather that might wash you out if you were in a tent. There are ample hiking paths if you plan on fishing I'd recommend Dead Man's Trail that's the one that gets closest to the river, there are also paths where you can see waterfalls and while hiking we saw lots of groups doing guided rafting or kayaking. There are showers located near the...
