Mt. Hood Beautiful campground off highway 26. Great location to visit Mt. Hood, Mt. Hood Skibowl, Government Camp, and Timberline Lodge. Sites/setting: Sites are rather big and in a wooded setting with enough space between each other to feel semi-private. Many sites are separated by trees/wood patches. No pads in the older section, but our site was pretty level (the new areas have gravel pads). At the time of our visit, they just finished completing the construction of two new areas: Alder Dell and Beaver Valley. These areas were constructed for both long and short term residents and have a totally different setting/feel than the older areas. It looks like they leveled the area before construction and planted a few new trees. Those sites are close together with very little “yard” space, definitely the “parking lot surrounded by woods” feel. Amenities/Utilities: All sites have picnic tables and a fire ring. Wi-fi was only available in the lodge, but our cell service worked fine. The campground has a store with any last min. items/snacks/essentials you may need. There is also a cafe’, indoor pool, spa/fitness area, playground, and I’m sure more. We didn’t get the chance to see any of these areas, so I am not sure about their condition. I only saw one laundry facility, so you may have a bit of a hike. No dog park or doggie bags provided that we saw. Activities: Aside from the pool, playground, recreation center, etc. you can also take a trail to Wildwood Recreation Site or a short trail to the river (near Beaver Valley). Military discount offered. We would definitely stay here again as long as we could get another site in the older sections. Had we stayed in one of the new areas I feel that I would have given a totally different review/rating. #tencatestravel

UPDATE: After 11 months of not staying here I still receive emails from them. The most recent one is a normal one you will receive almost every two weeks. The property utilities are very poor and you will risk your health using anyof the water here. I can say there are a few staff members that are pleasant but those few are the extent of the good that comes from this park. It is absolutely impossible to call and actually speak to anyone in the office. They simply do not answer the phone. Even after leaving a voicemail they do not call back. This park has the worst communication and customers service I have ever dealt with when it comes to RV parks or general. I have had my RV there for several months and will absolutely never return.

We recently stayed here over the Memorial Day weekend. I made my reservations in advance , online, putting in how long my 5th wheel was and that we needed a full hook up site. Upon arrival, the computer system was down, and all the long sites were taken up by folks who just took what they wanted and would not move out. We have a 36 foot 5th wheel and a big truck, and were put on a site only 26 feet in a section that was mostly for tenters . The office was full of people complaining about their sites. WE had needed and reserved a large site due to the size of our RV, and were told they were not available and the reservation system had double booked everyone. We have been going to Mt. Hood Meadows for 17 years now. It had always been a clean, nice place to stay. I can't believe they can charge this much a night, and be so understaffed. I am not sure if it is under new management, but there are no rules here now, and the facilities are dirty. The pool has very limited adult hours and is full of screaming kids night and day. The bathrooms were never cleaned the entire 3 days we were there, the showers filthy and the water would not shut off on them, causing them to run constantly. There was no number to call to let them know about any problems, , but I called the reservation center (which is in another state I am assuming) and also walked up to the office to let them know. The park rules say 6 persons to a site, but many sites had 3-4 cars on them with 4 tents and an RV. The cars being parked everywhere make it hard for folks with trailers or motorhomes to exit, or to back in to their site. The entire weekend, I saw no one from Mt. Hood Village patrolling or checking on issues. Only kids and teenagers in the golf carts they must use to do such patrols. There were so many barking dogs it was hard to sleep, and dog excrement everywhere, and unleashed dogs were the norm rather then the exception. The cable was good, and our hookups worked, and we appreciated the 50 amp service. The park is pretty with good access to the Cascade Streamwatch trail,. and the River, and the interior roads are fairly well maintained. The nice, overworked lady at the front desk allowed us to stay an extra night and did not charge us, due to the small site we were stuck on, and we are thankful. I am just so disappointed in how this place is run now. I am shocked as well, since I have stayed at other Thousand Trail camps, and they are too strict with too many rules, so this place was the total opposite! If we hadn't arrived when we did, we would have had no site to stay on despite paying a deposit and reserving our spot a few weeks in advance. So beware if you stay here, you may not get a spot, and may have to tow your big rig someplace else if you can find someplace else to take you without a reservation. We have many friends who go here due to our good recommendations, but now we will warn them about how it has changed for the worst. I think the worst part was that they assigned away the big sites and should not have done this if there was a reservation, and not allowed campers to choose any site that they wanted. If we had arrived any later than we did, we would have had no site at, despite having reserved in advance with a confirmation and payment. This place is seriously understaffed, there seem to be no rules, and the facilities are not in any line with what a GOOD SAM Park or Thousand Trails...

My husband and I recently had our wedding reception at the beautiful Evergreen Room reception hall at the resort. It is extremely affordable, newly renovated, and just overall perfect for a wedding! It was gorgeous. We were able to fit around 90 people in there comfortably and could spill out in to the outside space as well. There is enough parking, and it was perfect for what we were looking for. We could bring in a DJ with amplified sound and do the whole 9 yards.

Why 3 stars and not 5? The difficulty of planning and communicating with the staff, and their rule of having to use their "on-site caterer," the Dragonfly Cafe. I do completely understand that the resort is not a wedding venue, and you do pay (or not pay) a price for that. Luckily the grounds manager had an assistant who was a God send to me through this process as I was trying to figure out details for chairs, tables, etc. Without her I think I would have pulled my hair out trying to nail down details. However, my husband and I started early in the planning process and learned to expect a 1-2 week turn around for email communication.

The "caterer" Dragonfly Cafe is whole other story and review and can be found on their page. They aren't a catering company and cannot handle large-scale events with various details and needs. They are a small cafe/diner and while they make great food, I am rating the RV resort a 3 to hopefully convince them to not force customers renting their event spaces to have to use the Dragonfly for catering large events (I have also emailed them this plea, but decided to go the review route). We had asked if we could bring in a food truck, and we were told we had to use Dragonfly. We gave it a shot, and it was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. The simplest of details were forgotten and blamed on me. I am blessed to have had my good friend as my event planner to handle all the chaos so I could go on with my wedding day unfazed!

Overall, the RV resort is a beautiful and awesome place for a wedding, just know that with the affordable price, to not expect "wedding venue" service. And if you are forced to use Dragonfly Cafe as your caterer, be prepared for great food, but a major lack of organization throughout the entire...

I wish our stay would have been a little bit more pleasant, we arrived on Friday afternoon I was able to get set up quickly, it was quiet and seemed like a very nice choice for a camping spot! ...later that afternoon however all the unattended children started showing up along with the teens who thought it would be really cool to do Brody's and spinouts with their 4 wheel drive in the Rocky driveway! They had three teens on each side of a Pathfinder, yelling and hollering while standing on the running boards and holding on to the luggage rack while barreling through the property without care concern to anyone or anything else. Later I was informed that someone reported it to the office but nothing changed untill the Sheriff's were called in! By the time evening came, there were so many unruly kids yelling and running around that trying to have a good time became almost impossible. Parents who seemed the most important part of their trip was drinking or most certainly not watching their kids. At one point these kids near 10:00 at night we're back behind us breaking dead growth tree limbs and yelling about it thinking it was funny! Finally we got tired of all the garbage and had to yell over them to shut the hell up before we were able to get any peace! And I'm sorry, but the bathrooms were atrocious, so much urine and feces, dirt, dirty toilet paper all over the floors not to mention feces in one of the showers and one of the sinks! "DOES ANYONE EVEN CHECK THE BATHROOMS?" We decided to cut our trip short on day because of the conditions we were finding. Perhaps we just visited on the wrong weekend, I'm not sure. I know they need some sort of security checking on their campgrounds in order to keep it safe and tolerable for others staying there, we saw nobody and after hours you call and you get nothing but the phone ringing off it's hooked. I checked the reviews before we chose to book and all the reviews came back really good, so I'm just hoping it was a bad weekend however I'm not sure we will...
