Super 8 by Wyndham Sanford Kennebunkport Area — Hotel in Sanford

This hotel is in Sanford, directly across the road from the Sanford airport runway, in front of the Walmart parking lot, about 20 miles inland from Kennebunkport. It should not be billed as being in the Kennebunkport area. It is overpriced for the location. Facilities are clean but somewhat run down. Beds are just OK. Fixtures are cheap. For example, there is no separate light in the bathroom. There is not even a light over the bathroom mirror. The mirror IS the light, and it's warped plastic. ||The breakfast orange juice is best described as orange water. The waffle maker timer did not work. Cooking waffles had to be manually timed.||There were people walking in the hallways without any apparent reason other than that they were family members of the manager. The staff was rude and uneducated upon check-in with a service dog for an invisible disability (PTSD). The evening desk clerk tried to refund me instead of accommodating me with a room on the first floor. The shower was disgusting, the bed was uncomfortable, and overall just not clean. Also the walls and floors are paper thin. Upon check out there was a pet sitting on the floor in the breakfast area which was except able to the front desk clerk because the people were old and had a wheelchair and walker. However the dog did not follow basic obedience commands nor was it identified as a service dog. The staff only acknowledge that dog as a service dog because they could see a physical disability in the elderly group of individuals in the breakfast area. Decent quality for this price. Polite and helpful staff. Clean and quiet rooms. I stayed for 1 night. 24 hour front desk is very helpful, because in this area almost nothing works after 10pm. The first room we checked in smelled tobacco- we ask to change and we got another room right away. There were enough amenities in the room. There is also a laundry in the hotel , which is a huge help for travelers. Breakfast - standard. Free wifi and free parking. Other guests here were all families: nice and respectful people.
