I will definitely be coming back. Thereās so much room, the small lake/pond behind the cabin is beautiful and stocked with fish and turtles. The office gives you one pale of fish food for the fish and more is available for purchase at the office if needed. The fountain has LED lights. Enjoy that on the porch swing. Thereās a grill and a place to have little campfires in the back. The entire resort was so family friendly. Laundry on site. Tons of playgrounds for the kids, a salt water pool, a pavilion for gatherings, a game room for the kids. Thereās an old log cabin and log school house on the grounds which provide some historic enrichment for the family. Super cool! Free wifi/cable. Beds are comfy. It was a home away from home.
This cabin has two bathrooms, a master bedroom with a king sized bed, a bedroom with two full size beds and two full sized futons in the living room. The kitchen is furnished with cups, glasses, plates, bowls, utensils, baking sheets, pots, pans, silverware, a colander, mixing bowls, a dish strainer and dish soap. There are ice trays available and they have ice available for purchase at the office. The showers include shampoo and body wash (in case you forget) and overall, the feel is modern rustic. We found it easy and comforting to be able to prepare our own meals for the family rather than spending a fortune eating at restaurants the entire vacation.
We love love love it here. It was so relaxing to come back after a day at Holiday World (which is about 5 minutes down the road) and just relax by the fire and the lake. This cabin was cozy and beautiful and we will definitely be back.
The only con was that we arrived after it had rained and so the ants found their way inside. It wasnāt terrible and it wasnāt an insane amount but the property management sprayed outside for us and included spray for the inside for us as well. We didnāt mind it. Everything was so clean when we arrived.
What a beautiful place to vacation. Next time we will come back and check out some of the places around town that the office lists. Oh! And if you love Christmas, there are TONS of places with Santa/holiday themes because, itās Santa...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe held our annual family reunion here for the first time this year. After having this reunion in a State Park with log cabins for several years, everyone decided it was time for a change and did we pick a great place. Some of the families with children who came a distance would go to Holiday World for one day only due to the drive afterward to the state park. At this location, they were able to go on 5 different days. The cabins are awesome and the family who has Lincoln Pines could not be more friendly and accommodating. They do not live on site but are there early and stay late. They also leave a phone number that you can text at any time if you need something. There is a great pool with a splashpad, ponds to fish from, bridges over the ponds to view the wildlife from, and plenty of places to walk. There is a laundry if you happen to need that as well as a game room for kids and adults. The cabins have everything you need and if you take the laundry package (which we definitely recommend) you only need to pack some clothes, food, and drink. They have a basketball court, a shuffleboard court, and corn hole boards near the office. Also, a few old log buildings (of which Abe slept in one) on the sit to visit. There is also a shelter for gatherings. The cabins are very well maintained and clean with satellite television. This is a great place to stay for any occasion but is super for those going to Holiday World or visiting the Lincoln Heritage sites.
We were 5 minutes from Santa Claus for anything that we needed from groceries to hardware to clothes. We were 5 minutes from Lincoln State Park where there are plenty of places to ride bikes and trails to hike as well as a lake for boating in rental canoes or small boars. Also, Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial is 5 minutes away with plenty to see as well as plenty of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'd give them a 3.5 if that was available. It honestly would be a 4 except my sleep was so awful the whole time. The people running the place are so sweet, & the playground was awesome everyone loved it including the big kids (18 & 15). There was also a game room everyone liked & bench swings everywhere which is very fun. My brother also pulled a 5 lb bass out of the pond, which was great. The cabins themselves definitely look newer, and the bathroom was fine, but there were a couple things. The bathroom in the bedroom has a sliding door which is very noisy, gets stuck a lot, & leaves gaps that are very see-through. The futon was exactly what you think of when you think "crappy futon", it was weirdly sticky & itchy & was like sleeping on a soft rock. The pillowcases & sheets were stained in multiple areas, which is a bit silly since they're all white sheets which could just be bleached. The house is well-stocked though, with plenty of cookware, which isn't always common in places like these. And although the futon & Murphy bed were wanting, the king size bed apparently gave my parents pretty good sleep, so that's awesome. Overall it's cute, and certainly fun but if you just need a bed, I'd go to a hotel where it's cheaper. (Although be careful of the nearby Wyndham, they have a bedbug infestation my mom saw some awful...
