Solid campground! Campsites are all fairly close to each other but with trees so a decent amount of privacy. We stayed there on a Friday night in late September and there was one group that was making a decent amount of noise at night but otherwise it was very chill. There was a pit toilet and no shower (but the Pecos river is very close if you're down for a chilly dip!), make sure to bring toilet paper as it isn't currently being stocked by staff bc of COVID.

We tent camped. There is one quality restroom (do not use the outhouse style restrooms unless you have an emergency and bring your own TP and hand sanitizer if you do). Skies are gorgeous in the evening and perfect for gazing and just enjoying. The Pecos River provides a constant ambiance and is very popular with campers; many bring rods and fish for the abundant trout in the waters. Water is available at the campground, and sites have grills/fire rings.

Water currently not available and restrooms closed. Only has very old outhouses open. Hopefully this is temporary.

This campground is the smallest I have ever been to. It's like a small field with one paved loop and 15 camp sites crammed in it. All sites can be used for tent or very small campers. Limit is 22 feet. Space is tight in the whole campground so you better be good at maneuvering your rig.||Because it is in a hollow and there are pine trees, there is very little sun light and its cold even in June. You need pants and a jacket during the day. It was in the 30s at night, in June! ||There is river access through some camp sites, but when we were there the river was so high you could not get down to it as there was no bank to stand on. ||The campground is surrounded by private land with houses. Even across the river is private with signs posted to stay out. The campground was noisy at night due to the private homes.||There are no activities to do here, no trials, no river banks to fish from, nothing. This campground is strictly a place to spend the night. ||There was one building with a men's and a separate women's restroom. It had a flush toilet, toilet paper, sink with cold water only. No mirror, no shower, no hot water, no paper towels. There were 2 other vault toilets, but they were pad locked closed. The bathroom was very dirty, with dried diarrhea on the toilet. ||There was 2 water spigiots to get water from but they are hand pump. You have to pump very hard for very little water. Not worth the energy.||I would never stay here again. We were tent camping though. This place would be tolerable if you have a camper with heat and a bathroom. ||There is a host on duty. He made rounds and seemed nice. You can make reservations on line. I would recommend making reservations as the park was completely full on a...

I researched campsites in Santa Fe National park for Labor day week two months prior and found this one, and it was perfect. There was about 6 spots left during this time so I booked sites 2,3 & 4. Site 2 is small but we ended up just using it for parking and site 3 is larger and this was our kitchen area, and site 4 was where we set up our tents, so we were able to fit 5 tents comfortably in the open grass. I was worried about the gate situation closing at 8pm but we talked to the camp host, and he worked with us so we had no trouble with family arriving late. Camp host was super friendly and he does make rounds frequently. Porta potties looked like they were just emptied recently and cleaned, very nice. This places was completely booked online when I checked back later for an additional spot, but nothing ever came available. Unfortunately the recreation.gov site isn't friendly when it comes to changing, cancelling, no showing because there were half of the sites didn't show up for their reservations, and I'm sure it's because policy on the website. There is no cell service so don't rely on getting any service here, you may get a sporadic text messages from the outside but you can't send anything. Overall this is a clean and well maintained campground like other reviews have mentioned and is reservations only. I would return to this campground in the future, and I recommend it to others. I wish I took pictures to add, since most of the ones online don't do this...

Absolutely beautiful! Clean and the camp host was pleasant, knowledgeable about restaurant's, historical locations and shopping. The river that ran along the camp ground provided a wonder relaxing sound. Soothing to sleep too. The river views are amazing. Breath taking and picture perfect. We felt safe as the forrest rangers made their rounds daily. The camp ground were well kept and manicured. Kudos to the camp host! Although we saw fish in the river and casted a line out. We had no fish for dinner that night. Just a few miles down the road there is a NM fish hatchery open to the public. Fieldtract camp grounds is right off the main road from I40 to Pecos NM. Ghost river camp grounds is a few miles off the beaten path on whiney roads. Not very convenient but the views are pretty. Fieldtract campground has our vote! Happy Camping folks and...
