Calypso Cove RV Park — Hotel in Santa Rosa Beach

The guy that runs the place is a nut who will hardly ever speak to any of the people staying there. We were told by the ladies who run the office that we had three days to clean the outside of our RV or we were going to have to leave. It needed to be washed anyway so we did it. We did notice that there were other RVs that were filthy and much older than ours. We were then sent a notice that we had to wash the top of our roof or we will be asked to leave the park for 3 days. We were then sent a notice that we had to clean underneath our awnings or we would be asked to leave the park in 3 days. We did that. After 11 months they decided to move us down into a ravine that was muddy and not level. We left 3 weeks later. One side of the park that is long-term is disgusting and has tents with holes in them and junk all around them. The other side that we stayed in was clean and people adhered to the rules. The cottages near us had all kinds of strange people living in them. People kept knocking on our door to borrow our phones or needing rides and needing money. The side with all the junk RVs and torn up tents had the police in there a good number of times. Apparently people were selling meth out of the bathrooms. The maintenance man was one of them. It was very sketchy. I would not suggest anyone stay there unless you are a meth head and want to be around...

My wife and I stayed there for two weeks and it was ok. The problem arose when it was time to leave. When we went to check out Ted, the new manager, advised me that he wasn’t sure what the electric bill came to so not to worry about it, that the electric was all covered and I didn’t owe any additional money. Then I asked him if I would be getting a refund and he said I would, but didn’t know how much. About two weeks later I called Ted and was told a check went out. I said I hadn’t received it and Ted advised me another would be sent out. Another two weeks went by and still no refund on the electric. I called a third time just to find out that the guy(Ted) had miss spelled my name and had the address wrong as well. He assures mr that I will be getting my electric refund check soon. 5 weeks have gone by and still no check. I don’t believe Ted! I just can’t understand why all the confusion! Doubt if I’ll stay...

This place is disgusting. I reserved a travel trailer for a week. When I called I was assured that the unit was furnished. Upon arrival there were no linens and no towels no cups or plates. When I ask for them the manager responded that they had been stolen and that she would find me some. About 15 min later she returned with linen that were dirty. I asked for a key to lock the unit and there were none to be found. Cindy did hand me about 10 keys and say it should be one of those. As far as the smell in the unit I would say that bath day at a dog pound would smell better. I was told a family had just moved out I feel sorry for them after 10 min I could not breathe.
