ANTS! RVC Resort - I expected more for the $ BigRig OK
Update: 5/5/19
Update: 1 day after staying here we had some "itchy" nights. 2 days after our stay here we started finding small ants all over our coach, more each day. 4 days after our stay it's a real problem. They could have come in on our dogs or dog bed we had outside at Live Oak Landing (only during the day). We checked the outdoor grill under our coach, no ants. There were little ant piles all over the park but I didn't think it was a big deal. With the RVC commitment to Bee's and no pesticides, I'm not sure if they would spray for ants. We won't return.
Original review:
We stayed at a RVC Resort property earlier this year, St Cathryn's in Hot Spring AR - and it was Phenomenal!! I was expecting the same level of amenities and experience from Live Oak Landing for the same price, but we were disappointed. RVC set the bar high with St Cathryn's. All that being said, Live Oak Landing is plenty nice and all you need for an above average RV Resort.
Big Rig OK - we are 74' long with coach and trailer, we squeezed into site 33, one of their longest sites very nice concrete pads, level, patio and picnic table beautiful old trees beautiful river and luscious green surroundings pool is very small laundry is very limited but inexpensive dog run is huge, could be separated into 2 large dog parks about 30 minutes from beaches, and well far away from the busy beach scene which is what we wanted no camp store but they do sell ice trash pickup at your site friendly staff friendly RV'ers. I think the high price deturs roudy RV'ers, which we appreciated no issues with ants, end of April/early May, as I've seen in other reviews nice small boat launch, fish cleaning station and gazebos on the water nice rocking benches along the river only saw one boat go by on the river, motor was barely audible, I think they are in a no wake zone, so no boat noise issues. many cute tiny homes for rent or own I dont think there were any full timers. Very clean sites about 25 minutes from the interstate, so not super easy for an overnight. But once you get there you will want to stay a few days and explore the area.
Overall a very nice park. We heard word of an expansion or phase 2 adding more sites, laundry and a larger office. Let's hope RVC can raise the bar again with...
ย ย ย Read moreLooking for the perfect getaway near 30A? Look no further than Live Oak Landing! We recently brought our RV and set up at site 20, a spacious pull-through spot with full hookupsโsuper convenient! Each RV site offers plenty of space, a picnic table, a fire pit for those cozy campfire nights, and WiFi throughout the property (so you can stay connected if you need to). Plus, the on-site office has everything you might have forgotten at home, which is always a lifesaver.
No RV? No problem! Live Oak Landing offers charming cozy cottages, some of which are right on the waterโperfect for sipping your morning coffee while taking in those breathtaking views. If you're bringing the whole crew, there's a pavilion where you can gather for meals, play games, or just relax and enjoy the outdoors.
We brought our bikes and explored the property each day. The scenic views combined with the end-of-August breeze made it the perfect late-summer retreat. One evening, we cooled off with a swim in the sparkling pool, a peaceful way to wind down after a day of exploring. The clubhouse offers so much, including a fitness room, laundry facilities, a cozy hangout area, and even a small workspace if you need to get a little work done (though we didnโtโwe were in full vacation mode!).
Location? Itโs hard to beat! Live Oak Landing is just a short drive from the Gulfโs stunning beaches and all the top attractions in the area. We indulged in a delicious meal in Destin one afternoon and spent another afternoon exploring Seaside, both just a quick trip away.
Weโre already counting down the days until we can return! Whether you're an RV enthusiast or prefer a cozy cottage escape, Live Oak Landing is the ideal destination for your next...
ย ย ย Read moreRV Site stayโฆโฆwe enjoyed several days at Live Oak Landing. It is a very quiet and peaceful location near the water and convenient to shopping/restaurants. Santa Rosa and Grayton Beach are a short drive away, and PCB and Destin are within an hours drive. Our 70 ft, pull-thru site was a concrete pad and very level. The site included a fire pit and picnic table, and onsite trash pickup was provided. The RV/tiny home park was well maintained and onsite restrooms were clean. It appeared that some people may live here full-time; however, none of the sites were junky looking as in other parks where people live FT. Would definitely stay here again!
Only complaint: The management sent an email letting us know the lawn company would be onsite the day we left. They arrived that morning as we were preparing to leave. One of the grounds crew using a leaf blower walked up and stood right next to my husband who was putting something in one of our RV compartments and revved the blower. Later, as I was loading something in our truck, a guy on a riding mover pulled up in the grassy area next to our truck and rode right up next to where I was standing blowing debris on me and inside our truck. If you are staying there on a lawn maintenance day, just know the lawn care company has no regard for you or your...
