Worst Camp Host EVER. I don’t know her name, she hosted loop B, she had blue hair and she was so rude. We had four families split between campsites. Each family arrived at different times within a two hours period. No one was ever in the booth when we arrived. The next morning the camp host stopped by and informed with major attitude my our truck was parked in the dirt and had to be moved to an additional parking lot. She condescendingly said the park rangers would give us a fine for being in the foliage and they consider dirt foliage. She also asked for the tag for our additional vehicle. I began to explained we didn’t know we had to pay for an extra vehicle. Before I could even finish my statement she was interrupting me. She and I kept going back and forth with question and answer. She kept interrupting me as if my questions or answers didn’t matter. I told her we will pay for the second vehicle but we would do it after we finished preparing and eating our breakfast. She said she would be at the booth later and pay it then. We agreed.
Only two of the trucks tires were in the dirt. There was space to repark next to our other vehicle. My husband re parked the truck so it was off the dirt. While taking our dogs on a walk I noticed multiple campsites with two vehicles with tires off the asphalt in the dirt. A few hours later she stopped by and said “some people don’t listen” and started taking pictures of our vehicles. My husband showed her he moved the truck so all the tires were on asphalt. She muttered under her breathe something like “we’ll see”.
We were happy to re park and pay the required fee once we were informed of the rules. The way in which this camp host condensed and interrupted us as completely unnecessary and uncalled for.
We over heard other negative interactions between this camp host and different campsites.
The campsites are nice and close the lake. We enjoyed our time there other than our interaction with...
Read moreReserved a campsite for a Saturday in July. It was $20 + $10 for online reservation fee.
Campsite: We stayed at campground B. Campsite was nice with great places for campfire and tents. However the campsites do not have water faucets and the campground is low on water so you are encouraged to bring your own. The campsites are pretty close by each other.
Bathrooms: The bathrooms smell so strong it could make many throw up. I will bring a mask to wear next time I go there, that's how bad the smell is. They have a tap for getting water by the bathrooms, but it is not to be used for any washing. For the way the bathrooms smelled, I didn't like the idea of getting water near them, but we had no other options.
Lake: Getting to the lake from the campsite is a short hike. Once at the lake there are places around the lake setup for people to fish, however when we got there almost every spot was taken. The lake seemed over fished, I didn't see anyone catching fish except a group in a raft who came to shore with 3 medium/small trout. The lake was a bit crowded with a lot of canoeing, noise, some swimming, paddling, etc..
Night: There was a group up partying till late (maybe 1AM). There were really loud and obnoxious, but it didn't bother us for some reason, we slept through it. However at 2AM we woke from a child screaming in campsite A (we were in B). Around 5AM we heard cows mooing, they are surprisingly loud, but it was cool. Around 7:00AM that's when the kids in another campsite started yelling and howilng. Typical Utah campers with loud noisy kids that making camping no different then going to an apartment complex pool.
I think the lake would be fun if you knew a good time to go and had a small raft or canoe to do some fishing out of and don't mind a...
Read moreThe Land maintenance people were a nightmare!! We had a family reunion there a few weeks ago, during the algae bloom. All of the family came from hours away and we brought canoes to be on the lakes. When we got there, we all were disappointed by the bloom, but read the signs carefully. They said to take CAUTION, and do not get in the water. It even said you can water ski, but to take CAUTION. So, with our 8 canoes and 15 kids, we took caution. Then a park ranger guy and his friend approached us at the lake, and started chewing out my deaf sister. He said to her, "didn't you read the sign lady!!" I told him, your talking to the wrong person, and he proceeded to yell at her. I repeated myself, and then he directed his yelling at me. My husband approached and he quickly started leaving yelling all the way up this hill he had to climb. My husband only said one thing and they started running away. The Park rangers enjoy harassing the deaf, women and children. NIGHTMARE. WARNING, DO NOT GO TO THIS CAMPGROUND, its not even pretty enough to be worth that type of treatment. He proceeded to drive by and yell at us from his white truck as we canoed. The sign did not say "Stay out of the water" or "prohibited" it said. Take caution. And we took caution. He was a nightmare. He was an older man with white hair, overweight, with a skinny sidekick guy.... who obviously gets his kicks by harassing anyone he can be...
