We were just there for wine tasting at the Copper Bison, so I cannot speak to the rooms. Service was outstanding! Wine selection was very representative of the wonderful wines vinted across the state. (Check out the selection of whiskeys and bourbons, too!) Location would get a "five" if it was a weekend destination since it is definitely remote (paradise! Virtually no cell reception!) Since we were just there for wine tasting and to check another site off our wine passport, it was quite a jaunt (don't get me wrong, I'd go again for wine or spirits,) and with the falling rain, the roads were a bit slimy to get there. We were blessed to see the Golden Boy (namesake of the tasting room) grazing in the pasture with his Golden Calves...beautiful "fluffy cows!" I definitely recommend making the trip! You will not be disappointed!

What an memorable experience! We came up as a family to support my husband’s hunting endeavor. We had such a wonderful time. The lodge itself is beautiful and the service there is top notch. The water from the faucets and the shower were all from the springs and I could really tell the difference. Roxanne’s cooking really felt like home. She had a pretty good wine selection that paired well with her meals. We came to the lodge during the winter. We do plan to return and check it out during one of our summers.

This place is wonderful! A great weekend getaway overlooking beautiful scenic central Nebraska. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Take the full 3,000 acre tour to see bison and horned sheep, definitely worth the time. Mitch, Roxanne and Emily are gracious hosts!

We stayed here as a family and loved the beautiful lodge. The serene surroundings are gorgeous and we enjoyed visiting together and watching the sunset. The rooms itself were great and clean. The customer service is the reason for the 3-Star review which honestly given how poor the service was, the 3 stars seems generous. The manager made complaints throughout the time we were there. She complained about the owners saying how much better it was that they’ve moved out now. She stated she preferred to have hunters stay instead of people like us just traveling. She told us, new people staying there, how much easier it was with “regulars.” She complained about how we drank hot chocolate which was readily available despite telling us to make ourselves at home the night before. She stated with complete annoyance to one guest “well I guess you guys made yourselves at home.” She complained when someone did not make coffee the way she had instructed. She complained about peoples portion sizes at breakfast, etc. In front of an entire room of guests, she berated one guest saying “oh wow I guess I’ll have to make more food” as the guest dished food out. These exasperated, annoyed statements continued as guests went through the line dishing out their food. She was even heard complaining about a guest to other guests in the lodge. I’ve never stayed somewhere where the person in charge of hospitality showed such disinterest and even kind of exhaustion in providing hospitality for guests. Also I rarely ever make reviews and hate to make a negative one at all. She was very friendly when we arrived and sometimes people have bad days which is understandable. However it’s hard to get “regulars” when new guests are...

Best B&B we've ever experienced.||Comfortable begins to describe it, but another word comes to mind 'confidence'. As if you were walking through the door of your brother or sister's house, you have that absolute comfort that comes with the confidence that you belong.||Mitch and Roxanne Huggins are just good unassuming people and their place is nestled in the beautiful sandhills of Nebraska.||Immaculately clean, secluded, quiet. Sip a beverage of your choice around a fire ring or head up to the loft, and take in a view of grazing bison on the rolling hills. Get up close to elk and even feed them if you like.||Breakfast is amazing by any standards, but especially great when considering the new "covid rules". This is the place to get really comfortable and unwind.||Suggestion: If you're gathering with those drinking buddies of yours who get wound up (we all have a few), this isn't that kind of place. Like I said, this lodge is perfect for people looking to unwind.||Another suggestion: The lodge is located on a road that is not paved and the gravel may be fresh from time to time. If you're traveling on motorcycle, call ahead and have your bike securely stored at their place in town and they'll transport you to and from your bike.||Lastly, have Siri take you there. Mapquest and Google may eventually get you there but Siri...

If you want a place to get way and relax- this is it!|The rooms are decorated in a tasteful hunting motif. The beds are comfy and the bedding is great. Each room is named and decorated after a different animal and each has fantastic views no matter what side of the lodge you are on.|Each room has a patio door that leads to the wrap around porch, with chairs set all around to enjoy those views. Elk, bison and others come up to the pastures around the lodge for fun viewing.|The Copper Bison Tasting Room is downstairs and offers beer, cocktails and Nebraska wines. They also have pizza, wings and other snacks to enjoy with your drinks, either inside at the tables or outside on the picnic tables. Roxy likes to create new cocktails- give it a try!|Upstairs is the huge breakfast room with magnificent views. A great breakfast is included with your stay so don't miss...
