What a great find! If you're looking for a tranquil escape, this campground delivers. It was wonderfully quiet, allowing for true relaxation. I was very impressed by the number and cleanliness of the restrooms and showers, making our stay very comfortable. Having charging spots for the camphouse was incredibly convenient, and the overall cleanliness of the grounds was top-notch. My only word of caution would be to pack plenty of mosquito repellent, as they were definitely out in force.

Nice trails, but they are quite wild at the moment, so be prepared to be climbing over lots of fallen trees and working around a lot of debris. This seems to have been a hard winter for the trees. View from the High Point overlook was fine now, but it felt like when the leaves come in on the trees the view may be quite limited.

The camp isn't maintained. The public restrooms are so gross, trees are down everywhere on the trails, trails aren't cut back for hikers. Right next to a railroad that blares a horn late at night. Cheap to camp though. Very dog friendly.

I am not sure how to rate this campground. It was great and terrible at the same time.

Pros: some site are very big. we got recommended site 25 which is huge and is very private. you cannot spot tent from road. You don't have other campers anywhere close to you. lady at the register was very nice and informed us about everything nature trails free showers fireflies

Cons: gross bathrooms - probably not cleaned daily, floor is definitely not wiped daily. I camped in 40 campgrounds in a year. this was most disgusting bathroom experience so far. TRAIN HORNS!!!!!! there are trains passing mostly from 6PM till 5AM in the morning. every couple of minutes. Every train horn 4 times. last time is right next to campground I will guarantee you it will wake you up every single time. I would say around 20 trains passed by in the night. from 5AM trains stops for...

Had a fantastic time camping at the tail end of Labor Day weekend. I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the shower facilities. They clearly were being maintained throughout the weekend (Sunday night the sink counter was very wet with dead bugs, on Monday morning it was all cleaned up. On Tuesday morning they were closed for cleaning and someone was power washing the floors). Did not feel like I was “roughing it” at all with these facilities. The sites are very close together with little privacy or tree coverage, but any time other than a holiday weekend when the whole park isn’t packed I don’t think this would bother me. The train did wake me up a few times the first night. I’m not sure if I got used to it by night two or if the trains were less frequent but it wasn’t as noticeable the...
