We booked four nights with the intention of enjoying the lake and riding the WRGT on the bikes getting geocaches along the trail. We pulled up to sign in and this is where we met Lucy. She greated up with smiles, laughter and joking fun. We parked the camper, got set up and went back to the office for firewood. The office was closed, but she took a moment to let us get the wood before she went home for the day. The next day we stopped in before leaving to go to WRGT and she stamped our Ohio Park book for Geneva and also Headlands Beach State Park. On our second day camping we headed there to verify getting the stamp. The area is beautiful. That was not originally on our list of things to do and I'm glad she talked about it so that we could see it this time of year. Our third day we biked the trail again. Lucy let us know that the best place to park the truck was in Austinburg beside the cutest little post office you ever saw. She was such a a delight and she added to the experience of our visit so much that I want to go back. She is a beautiful soul in this state park. Come stay a few nights and meet Lucy. They have clean flush toilet restrooms , clean shower with great water pressure, and laundry. When we stayed the two washers were out of order. I don't know if they are broke down or closed for the season. They have two dryers. Highly recommend staying here. We were in lot #14. There is a trail near #25 that you can walk to get to the office from the upper...
Read moreI really like Geneva State Park Campground. The majority of the sites have plenty of shade and the pads are relatively level. The campground roads are one way loops which really helps with backing up a trailer. All the sites, with the exception of the primitive sites, have 20/30 amp power. There are many full hook up sites available if you are lucky enough to reserve one. There is a dump station available. For potable water to fill up your rv.... you are going to have to pull up next to the camp store on the exit side of the building. This is the only water faucet available to fill up an RV. There are a few water fountains with a faucet, but these are not convenient to park a camper and fill up a tank. The reason I am deducting a star is the drainage. We were there on a rainy week, and many sites were surrounded by water that was very slow to drain. Some sites never drained while I was there. So needless to say, many of the sites were muddy. The beach is a short walk or bike ride away. And Geneva on the Lake is a short two mile bike ride as well. So there is plenty to do within walking distance of...
Read morePark is conveniently located and camp spots are spaced decently. There are only a handful of full hookups that go quickly and are the only lots that include pads for your picnic table, etc. All of the other spots are pretty narrow with very little space to walk to get into your camper or get your steps down. The office is pretty lax letting people come in, without asking guests questions, etc. They were friendly though and said there’s no $2 daily fee for visitors as the website states. With Geneva being a pretty rainy area, many of the lots had a lot of standing water…some almost the whole lot. Our volunteer host was super friendly and did his best to enforce the rules. Sadly, a neighbor on our last 2 days was rude with loud music and unleashed dogs that left us a few “gifts” to clean up. If you’re okay with a bit of mud, you’ll be okay staying here. Be awesome if they could add some drainage or gravel to help alleviate the pooling water. The showers...
