I am giving 3 starts based on personal preferences, I confess. This is a simple hotel in the middle of the road, so I didn't expect much, but for the price, a few things fell short. Starting with the positives, the hotel seems to be safe. It is quiet and the night staff was nice. Easy to park. The manager seems to be doing a good job, considering how outdated the hotel is. Wall painting is well maintained. The bathroom mirrors and the TV look new. There is a microwave and fridge in the room. The Dove toileteries are a nice touch, and the towels were clean without stains. The bed was fine, and the sheets were clean. As for the negatives, there is no elevator! Although I did not find pet hair, the room smelled musty, plus a combination of dog smell and cleaning products. The bathroom floor was sticky, probably an excess of cleaning products. If you are allergic like me, I would not stay here. I mean, it's a pet friendly hotel (which I didn't know), so it is not always possible to get rid of pet smell. I wish they would renovate the place a little more and change the old carpet and the old and irregular bed pillows.

The hotel and room, itself, were clean. The lobby was beautifully done in lodge style, with a rock fireplace and peeled log banisters and rails for the stairs. Very comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast was good, with pancakes, sausage, etc. The negatives were the mattress literally felt like a "bunkie" mattress and was extremely uncomfortable. The housekeeping staff also reused shower products from a previous stay. I wasn't going to use the products for myself because I bring my own, but I collect the hotel supplies to give to a homeless ministry at home. I noticed one bottle was way lighter and realized it was a quarter full. Maybe the employee didn't notice because they were so busy and thought they were unused, or maybe it was intentional and they didn't care. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but it is still unprofessional.

We had unexpected car trouble while traveling home, and luckily, this place was nearby. The room smelled and looked very clean as soon as we walked in. They also offer a decent breakfast. I'm glad they are pet friendly since we were traveling with our small dog. Conveniently located near the highway and across from a gas station. The parking lot is also very well lit overnight. They also offer late checkout for a fee, which was good since we had to wait until our car was fixed. When I asked the front desk, they said they didn't offer late checkout, but I was able to request it online.

EXCELLENT motel and reasonably priced. I am a Wyndham Rewards member, so well worth signing up to get deals on their rooms.||When you walk in the door, a semi-southwestern decor greets you with a wood staircase to the right and up to the 2nd floor. (No elevator). ||The front desk is would be in front of you and the pool to the immediate let. The breafast room is to the right of the front desk and in the hallway is ice machine and vending machines. All nicely located.||It is an all NON-SMOKING motel. It smelled fresh and clean, especially for a pet-friendly motel to boot!||We travel with 2 pets and requested 1st floor near an exit so that its easy to walk the dogs an all hours. They delivered.||Plenty of parking. Carts for bringing in luggage. Easy, plesant check in. The front desk was ready with our reservation.||We reserved a double queen room, pet friendly. VERY nicely appointed with hard surface floors (wood look). Microwave and mini-frig. Desk with adjustable OFFICE CHAIR and lamp that featured plug ins PLUS 2 USB ports. Nice touch as I work remotely and always have phones, laptop and tablet with me.||VERY HIGH SPEED INTERNET ! I was impressed. At all hours. WONDRFUL.||Coffee pot in room, included condiments, coffee, coffee cups + plastic cups. Dove brand soaps and shampoos.|| Beds were super comfy and so were the pillows. I also liked the window treatments. Instead of the usual curtains, there was 2 types of roll up shades, 1 to filter light and 1 to darken the room.||Overall lighting was good. Sink, bathroom, desk and bed stand. Bed stand also had electric outlet in the light for charging phones, etc. Big flat screen TV with lots of stations. Clothes iron in the armoire.||Two nice touches: Note pad with pen and a DIRECTORY. Listed everyting about the motel, all the TV stations, times for pool, and local eateries.||Also has a guest laundry with supplies and change available at...

Checked in fine at the front desk. I then checked my room for signs of bed bugs (I may be paranoid, but I do it everywhere I stay). I found some signs that could have indicated bed bugs, and showed a picture to the front desk. To be perfectly clear, I am not certain there were bed bugs, nor did I look for them because the rooms seemed especially dirty or anything like that. They can show up anywhere, even if the hotel does everything right.

I was initially given a new room, then the man at the desk went with me to look at the room I had been in. He was unhappy with me for stripping the bed, and when I said I do it everywhere I stay, he said I could do it elsewhere, and told me to leave the establishment.

My impression is that the rooms themselves are good and clean enough for the price, if nothing to write home about. Can't recommend the service, though.

Edit based on some comments in the response: of course I stripped the bed, how else do you check a mattress for bugs? I obviously put everything back before I sleep on a bed, though, so it shouldn't impact the hotel staff one way or the other if I don't find anything. This time was an exception because I found something...

I booked a night through an online travel agency and didn't realize the hotel was in the wrong city. I contacted the hotel, informed the manager of my mistake, and asked for a refund. The manager told me I needed to contact the travel agency for a refund since I had booked through them. I contacted the travel agency, and they advised me that they needed to contact the hotel to authorize the refund. The travel agency called the hotel and spoke to the manager, who declined the refund. I called the hotel manager back, asked why he refused the refund and was told, "Because the travel agency will charge the hotel a commission." I called the travel agency again, and they assured me the hotel would not be charged a commission. They called the hotel and informed the manager, but he refused the refund again. I called the manager again and asked why he didn't tell me he would refuse the refund when I first called instead of wasting several hours of my time and that I felt his actions were deceitful. He told me I was no longer welcome at his hotel and hung up on me. I tried to dispute the charge with my credit card company, but he claimed I...
