We booked our site about 2 weeks ago, requesting that we have a site near one of the other families that had booked their site a hour before us. The person that I spoke to on the phone was not very friendly and said rudely that he couldn't guarantee that we would be together. We showed up this past Thursday around 6:30 and when we were checking in we were originally given a site at the complete opposite side of the campground. I requested a site closer to our friends and he did find a site closer. When we arrived we wanted to use the pool which unfortunately closed at 7:00pm and doesn't open until 12:00 the next day. We have a group of kids racing at the local BMX track and these hours of operation are very limited. The real issue we had over our stay was that the person working in the office, he was rude to not only the people in our group, I witnessed him yelling at a women about her having a cup of ice water in the pool area, when she went to put the cup outside of the pool area he yelled at her for not watching her kids. We did have some contact with the owner which was very nice, he did open pool earlier than 12:00 the next day. The campground is nice but they have a lot to learn about customer service, and the person in the office really needs to learn how to talk to people. We were really looking forward to this visit, and this was a big...

This is our first season here and we love it! It's quiet and clean. The sites are good size fitting our 32 ft camper and 2 cars with plenty of room to spare. The laundry and bathrooms are directly across from us which is a plus. Rec hall has ping pong, pool, air hockey tables and a few arcade games and bingo is held every weekend there. There is a small stocked pond which is catch and release and perfect for the kids. Playground includes separate area for under 6 yrs old and their is basketball hoop, tether ball, shuffleboard and bocce courts. The people we've met have all been really nice and the owners take care of their property. There is also a pool by the office which is a little walk and a fenced dog park for the pooches to get some exercise without leash. Cheapest place we could find in CT at $2350 for season from April to October. And campers can be left on site and winterized for $500. Beautiful wooded area with many places to fish and stores less than 10 miles away (Walmart, Aldi's, Home Depot etc...) As well as some national brand and...

It's an ok place with a strange, strict, impolite older woman policing the place

Edit to respond to reply (rating unchanged):

This reply only addresses the "strict" (and probably the "strange") adjectives, but this woman was impolite to me the very first time we spoke, despite not doing anything that upset her. I understand what was done wrong after the initial interactions once it was pointed out to me, but the disrespect was demonstrated hours before that happened. I hope she is simply impolite to everyone and that there was no other reason why she chose to be rude to me immediately without greeting or before any customer service.

As for constructive criticism, try to implement the following: greeting people who are greeting you, using a polite tone when approached by a customer, and after a customer apologizes and corrects a mistake, do more than just huff with an attitude and kick up dust with...

I went with a group of friends with my son to Highland this weekend we had sights 71 and 72. It was Halloween weekend there (early because they will be closed for actual Halloween). We tent camped and had a great time. The activities for the weekend were fun and well planned. We all loved the general down to earth vibe and fellow campers were friendly. One of my group who also owns a camper is now looking into getting a seasonal sight there she liked it so much. The owners were super nice and friendly.

This has a lot of seasonal campers in more or less permanent camps, which makes it a little strange to come here as a tent camper, but the people are friendly and the amenities are nice. There is water at every site (which is convenient), and the toilets and bath houses are clean and well maintained. The tent lots are not at all private and are basically in the middle of everything. We have camped here multiple times and will undoubtedly do so again when we come back to the area.
