We booked Bonnet Lake Campgrounds for one week while traveling through this area on our way to Naples. The staff is welcoming and beyond helpful and nice. While the grounds lack landscaping, the sites are maintained and clean. The pool and laundry facilities are very nice and the bathrooms, which could use an updating are more than sufficient, although they could use a more thorough cleaning, as well. You will also have to pay extra for wifi; something we had not run across previously. What is extraordinary about this park, however are the residents. I have never experienced such happy, outgoing and welcoming people in my experience full time RV’ing. It is obvious by the many people who return to this park year after year that the sense of community here is unparalleled. If what you are looking for is a five star resort experience, don’t bother coming here. However if you want a solid, adequately maintained campground, that is quiet and secure, with adequate amenities and the friendliest community of folk you could hope for, (and you don’t mind the quaint, granny aesthetic), Bonnet Lake Campgrounds is your spot. Did I mention the price is...
Read moreThe worst park ever, the pool is never working, laundromat only has cold water. Manager does what she wants and what Naomi tells her to. It’s full of drama. I lived here for 3 years and the park has been getting worse and the rates keep goi g up. So if you want to stay in a park that overcharges but can’t use amenities, then this is the park for you. Permanent residents have no say so on summer activities. Naomi is not supposed to be running the place, but since the manager and her are good friends, whatever Naomi wants she gets. This is by far the worst 55+ park I’ve ever been to. I didn’t tolerate much of the BS there because I paid my bills and minded my own business. I’ve never disrespected anyone. So as I was selling my place, the told the new buyer a bunch of lies about me. Like I said, might be the cheapest RV campground in Avon Park, but definitely not worth the stress level. Especially when I was gone for a few weeks, the manager allowed my neighbors on lot 3 to just walk right in my place. And the manager tells everyone in the park your whole life story, or sometimes what she wants to make up about you. The water is terrible and has a...
