TLDR: excellent service, wonderful tiny unit, fun amenities and delicious food
Everything at Sedona Pines was exactly as we had hoped for and more. Myself and a friend (both women in late 20s) stayed in a room together. We felt perfectly safe and loved the location. It’s removed from the craziness, crowdedness, and traffic of the main drag but so convenient just minutes away from most everything, and within 30 minutes to everything else we did.
Upon arrival, we were immediately greeted and helped by a woman who was so very kind and accommodating to our needs. She handled a difficult situation that arose with another guest professionally, calmly, and with grace. Everyone else we talked with while there was so very kind and helpful. We were given a very helpful packet of information.m regarding our stay. We were then directed to a side room where we got ALL the details on EVERYTHING Sedona. I think his name was Shaun? And he had an answer to every single question and helped us design our absolute perfect trip. It’s so nice to talk to an expert on the area and explain your wants, instead of relying on the tons of info online.
The grounds are adorable and very well kept. We immediately gushed at how cute the place was when we drove up to the resort and through the grounds. We didn’t use the pool/spas but we should have because they looked great. We did use the mini golf, basketball, and ping pong, which was really fun (favorite being the mini golf!) While there, we also saw that there was live musical entertainment in one of the buildings which was sweet.
The restaurant on site was delicious. Wish we had dined in because it is very cute inside, but we got it to go so we could watch a movie—which we borrowed from the shockingly extensive collection at the front desk (seriously—everything from kids movies to classics and some more recent and popular titles.)
The room itself was immaculately clean. We were amazed at how spotless everything was. Have realistic expectations when it comes to certain aspects of staying in a 400 square foot place! For instance, when it comes to TV size—don’t think you’ll be getting a big screen here. If it was any bigger, you’d complain because the bed has to be so close to it! But since the place is cozy and small, the TV size is appropriate (and anyway, go hiking when you can instead! ;) )
Aside from that, expect to be amazed at what all the room boasts. It never once felt too small for the two of us. I’ve never seen so much storage space in a little place before! They have provided you with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, as well as things like extra trash bags, basic laundry and dish washing supplies, and some really basic toiletries. We didn’t need a single thing during our 3 night stay.
The main bed was so very comfortable and all the bedding and pillows are provided to set up the pull out couch bed. Have realistic expectations there—it’s nothing special, but I slept through the night on it! I did have a hard time putting it away back to a couch though. I would recommend packing an eye mask so that the light doesn’t come in through the blinds, because you’re sleeping in a living room there, so come prepared.
The one and only thing I’d change about my stay is requesting an interior room instead of one on tree outside of the property. They just looked cuter to be surrounded by all the other cottages and near the water features.
I will definitely recommend Sedona Pines to everyone, and consider it next time I am in town. I would love to take my extended family here and each...

My wife and I recently attended a Sapphire timeshare presentation at Sedona Pines Resort as part of a promotion to receive discounted tickets for some activities during our vacation in Sedona, AZ. We've been through timeshare presentations before, so we were prepared for the typical sales pitch. However, halfway through this one, things felt different—the offer seemed almost too good to be true. The entry cost was far cheaper than anything we had encountered in the past, and for a moment, my wife and I were convinced it was a great deal.
We asked some clarifying questions, especially regarding additional hidden fees or costs. One key point they repeatedly stressed during the presentation was that there were “zero” hidden fees—no resort or parking charges. Confident in this, we decided to proceed and began filling out the paperwork.
After the presentation, our handler took us into the lobby to try and finalize the deal. We decided to ask him directly if the “no resort fees” also applied to parking fees, just to be absolutely sure. He replied, “No, no fees,” once again reassuring us that everything was covered. Feeling satisfied, we continued with the process, but the sheer number of documents made me uneasy, prompting me to carefully read the fine print.
It was then that I found contradictory information. It turned out that the only taxes covered were for the room. Parking fees, resort charges, and other expenses were not included, despite their earlier assurances. When I brought this to our handler's attention, his demeanor shifted drastically. He went from friendly to aggressive, telling us that we needed to “trust them” and claiming he wasn’t a “numbers guy.” He even went so far as to suggest we cancel the deal if we didn't trust them, becoming visibly agitated over a simple clarifying question.
The lead presenter was called back over, and I asked her the same question. Her response? They couldn’t predict all the charges—an about-face from what she had claimed just 20 minutes earlier. To our surprise, she looked sad and almost teary-eyed, but our handler jumped back in with an even more bizarre statement: “You need to trust in God, and if you don’t like the program, just stop paying the dues and walk away.” By this point, my wife and I were stunned, but since they had our money and information, we calmly declined the program and got our refund.
In hindsight, I’m grateful for the handler's outburst—it stopped us from making a mistake. Had we not asked the clarifying question, we might have signed up for a program that misled us with a flawed presentation. As the handler left, he made one final comment that summed it all up: “I really don’t care if you guys choose the program. I get paid either way.”
Overall, the experience was unsettling, and I would caution anyone considering attending this presentation to read everything carefully and be prepared for a drastically different attitude once you...
Read moreBooked thru Vrbo, it is an older, well maintained community of 400 sf tiny homes. Be prepared to be hit up for a timeshare presentation for the new double wides up the hill.
Not bad for a couple, cramped for more than two. It is on the far west side of town, the Italian restaurant on site gets good reviews but is only open from 4-9 pm. Traffic into town, especially during rush hour, is horrible.
Be sure to ask for extra blankets, towels, coffee etc. Creamer is powdered, the kitchen has all the basics, 4 plates, glasses, spoons etc. I couldn't find a measuring spoon.
Most of the staff was very pleasant, the young man who checked me in on Friday evening and an adorable kid with blonde curls and a big smile stand out. I think it was his first day on the timeshare team. The woman who checked me out on Sunday morning seemed a bit frazzled.
I was actually scheduled for a presentation but had to check out early. I live in Phoenix, and am in Sedona several times a year. I checked out at 8, was told they had presentations all morning, but I no one was available. I even contacted Kory, who was scheduled to give my 10:30 am tour. He acted like I had just spoken him up.
All in all, I would go back again. The price is better than any hotel nearby if you don't mind the limited food choices nearby. Don't expect to cook a fancy meal. Breakfast, spaghetti, something on the patio grill, baked chicken is about all I would attempt.
The pool was closed for maintenance, it was early March. A friend who actually owned a TS there several years ago raves about the hot tub, but I didn't get a chance to check it out.
Great deal for the money, though. Lodging in Sedona is crazy expensive, especially during peak season. I paid more for a room in Cottonwood with two queen beds a couple of years ago. There were three of us on that trip, we mostly ate at restaurants in Cottonwood, the 400sf would have been a tight fit.
The units aren't well insulated, the bedroom is tiny, outlets are lacking. The thermostat was left on A/C, I woke up at midnight with teeth chattering, had to dig for the one spare blanket and my heavy robe. I slept with the second blanket doubled over.
I should have known better, it is the high desert, it cools down quickly after the sun goes down. Dress in layers if you plan...
