What a joke. Booked this room on "their" website and my plans changed. I went in and modified the room reservation online as instructed by their employee. I modified the day to two days prior then my original. Two weeks later when I arrived my room reservation had not been changed and it was still set to the original date. They checked with their "website reservations" guru only to find out that the reservation was never changed. They said I could stay in their "Cabin" for $200. Ok. Now onto trying to cancel my reservation now in two days. I called the hotel and they said I have to do it online in order to get that done. I cannot modify or cancel at the hotel I have to do it online,,,,on their website that they do not control. Today is 12/5/2016 and my reservation is 12/7/2016. Here is their cancellation policy: Cancellation Policy Cancel by 4 PM on day of arrival local hotel time to avoid a 1 nights cancel penalty charge. Please cancel through agency where reservation was made. I tried contacting the hotel and no answer. I tried online and it does not give me a cancellation number or confirmation that it was done. So here I sit at the Starlite Motel for $50 less per night and had a great experience on their free Wi-Fi typing this review. I will never stay at The Altenhofen Inn & Suites again nor will any of my coworkers who travel through here. Starlite has my business from now on. Why...I can call Lynette & Galen personally and if there are any issues, poof, taken care of. Love these people at The Starlite! I stay at two to three hotels a week and I have never had this issue. I never leave reviews but had to vent...
Read moreWe arrived about 9:30 p.m. on a Thursday, which is late for a check-in and the front desk person welcomed us and was helpful, which is extra nice when you are exhausted from 11 hours of driving. Our room on the 2nd floor was clean and well-maintained, with TV, microwave, and coffee set up, and a bottle of water on the side. Seneca had shut down by the time we arrived, and our choice for dining was the Sonic Drive-In. We were able to maneuver easily in the parking lot with our truck and 24-foot-trailer. The included buffet-style breakfast featured egg patties, sausage, a pastry tray, yogurt, fruit cups, a variety of cereals, granola bars, whole-grain bread, and more. We like our coffee stronger than was served here, but we have found this to be true both of Kansas and Nebraska in general, unless it's a Starbucks. The water in the shower was very soft, and it felt like the soap wouldn't come off. We have also found this to be true in other Kansas and Nebraska hotels along I-80. The walls were a little thin, and the guy in the room next to us had a bad cough. Also whenever anybody shut a door, it slammed and you could hear it down the hall. The bed was nice and firm, and very comfortable. After everybody settled down for the night, it was quiet. We woke refreshed and ready to go. This hotel also has an attractive pool area, which would be nice on a hot day and fun for children. The overall impression is that of a...
Read moreAre you looking for a great Inn? How about a pleasant experience? What about amazing customer service? Do you enjoy the small quality of life actions? Then look no further, you've found the Inn to stay at for the night.
Upon calling them, the employee was very hospitable and was trying to help me. When I arrived, the process took no more than about five minutes to get my room. There are only two floors so it's not much walking, which is a good thing I'll say.
Before heading up to my room, I noticed a plate of freshly baked cookies. Asking the front desk employee and she said they are for the customers. How amazing is that? Pretty amazing I'll say.
After that, I got up to my room and it was clean as it should be. Sometimes you have to worry about that but alas, not here. I even provided some pictures to show you the current state of my room upon arriving.
The complimentary breakfast was good. It was from 6:30 to 10:00 a.m., which is a nice change of pace because most of the time, it's like 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. This gives the customers who have to get back on the roads early a chance to eat still.
With that being said, I highly recommend this Inn if you are passing through town and want a enjoyable experience. I surely wasn't disappointed. Be sure to stay with your friends and family too. Last but not least, I know this was probably one of my best memories for an Inn. So thank you Altenhofen...
