The campgrounds are mostlyyyy similar to other NJ parks, which normally would be 5 stars. 3 stars because our site was listed as a "drive in" (park next to your tent) but was a walk in, meaning park in a lot and carry your stuff in. All campsites in Goshen Pond are walk ins except sites 15 and 16, even though sites are listed as drive ins online. There are no picnic tables at the sites, which there usually are. Regular campfire pits with primitive iron grills, smallish campsites without much privacy from other sites. Sites are pet friendly. Dirt/sand roads leading to the sites - leave the Corolla at home lol. At the end of the day $6 a night is hard...
Read moreBeautiful site. You can kayak in the pond (which is really more of a river swamp). Kinda shallow for swimming. Doesnt go mich deeper than waist high plus lots of bottom muck and plants. No alcohol allowes. Be aware you need to book in advance. You can do online. Lots of sandy backroads... If your tires have low traction you can get stuck. You cant camp off the reserved drsignated area even though signs dont say anything against it.
Canping area is primitive with fire pit and thats it. Beautiful pine trees and lots of dead wood to gather for trees. There are hole pit bathrooms and a running water spigot. Bring yr own tp. Pack in pack out all trash......
Read moreThis is a true gem if you are looking for a quiet place to camp! At night there was no noise but the sounds from the forest. It got really dark as well and peaceful, it made for a great night's sleep! This is a nature lovers paradise with a lot to walk and hike around. The campsites are really cheap, just 3 dollars for a jersey resident and only 6 for non residents! It is "primitive" camping so that means no electric or wifi, a pit toilet is on-site and bring bug spray. There is a water pump which is potable but best to bring your own and toilet paper. All in all this is just a perfect place to get away...
