The Motor Inn - Motel, RV Park & Laundromat — Hotel in Sharon Springs Township

I travel a LOT for both work and pleasure, and usually I'm in fairly nice national chain hotels, but there's something special about getting off the main road, and staying at the small, local, traditional motel - the "motor hotel" of the mid 20th century. While some may be iffy (I've stayed in some awful ones, but also awful chains), many are nice and quaint. I read that this was the best (probably only) motel in Sharon Springs, with nice reviews, and booked a room. When i got here, there was a sign on the door that they were out, but to call a number, got a prompt and polite answer, the gentleman said he had all my info, told me which room I was in, what the door code was - simplest check in I've done in years. Room is a typicaly mid-20th-century motel room, not a high-end luxury room, but nicely decorated, spotless, It could benefit from a fresh coat of paint on the walls, but furniture, bedding, etc., were all in great shape. If you want a luxury hotel, drive another hour and you might get to one. If you want a comfortable, quaint spot with friendly hosts, this will more than meet your needs. I'll stay here again next time I travel this way. Park a couple feet in front of your room, or there's plenty of room around the building for RVs or...

Stayed here with my wife and five small children (aged 10 years to 3 months) on a cross country road trip from New Jersey to Colorado/Utah and back. It was our first night sleeping indoors in a week (we camped along the way), and we opted to stay here rather than at the chain across the street. Was very glad that we did. ||We came in after dinner time, but the owners drove over to check us in. They were very friendly and kind to us (not always the reaction you get when you show up somewhere with five children). Room was in great shape, very clean, and a welcome hiding spot from the constant strong winds that blew through town. We even got a bright red sunset as we unloaded the car (all the dust in the air made for a good one!). Would be very happy to stay here again the next time we find ourselves in...

I needed a place to stay due to an emergency situation. I picked this place because I was sucked at the part and two awesome ladies recommend this place. They provided extra towels and coffee ☕ and coffee brand was great and needed

Check in time was fast and friendly, price was good, bed we very comfortable and pillows were wonderful, TV and channels to pick was great, liked how you can park right in front of room if need be , AC is nice and cold the AC made a weird noise, shower 🚿 was nice and hot. Refrigerator and microwave was clean , the floor was dirty but it was a quick fix.

The owner was great and communicated wonderfully. I am highly impressed with this...
