Salt Creek Dispersed Area — Hotel in Shasta Lake

Salt Creek Dispersed Camping Shasta/Trinity National Forest April 2025

Gate to actual campsites is closed and locked. There is another RV parked at the gate. I searched for other flat areas and found none. I ultimately parked at the Boat Ramp/Beach area. There is an RV resort just up the hill a few hundred feet away. Some people in a golf cart came down and saw me parked there but said nothing. I took my chances and stayed for the day and night. The area is beautiful and it was a near perfect weather day. Families were out floating and playing on kayaks and paddle boards. Boats were out with people fishing. Even saw some people on ATV’s cruising up the hill. I might have stayed longer, but the trains going by at all hours wasn’t great and the lack of flat space was too...

I stayed here during Spring break. A very beautiful place. It is prettysmall and gets full a lot. The train isn't so bad. My biggest issue were the kids riding their dirt bikes through a small and full place from dawn till dusk. BIG issue for me.
