We liked the campground, but there were a few issues: It was July 5th. The toilets were not dumped or cleaned in the main area where RVs are by the gas station. Of the 3 bathrooms close to us, only 1 was really useable, but we did learn that if we crossed the highway and the creek to the tent side, their bathroom was clean. The real reason for why I marked this lower was really about the Gas Station. The Gas Station is UNRELIABLE!!!!! We were told it might be open on the weekends, but really its on the whims of the person running it. By the time we came back through at noon after going to Boyden Caves, he still wasnt opened. We may come back, but I wouldn't count of this gas station. There are some roads in that area that make for a nice walk around...
Read moreEasy to find and book! We got site 6, right by the road but it quiets down at night. Nice for a rest in between Sequoia and Kings, especially because we made stops to Hume lake in between the journey. If kings canyon campsites get booked up (like we ran into) this isn’t too far a drive from the park, and since it uses ‘hipcamp’ to book it seems like it stays more under the radar from the crowds, works for booking last minute. The site across from us was empty all night while the camps in Kings was booked solid. Porta potty, but like I said it’s good for one night. Also across the way at the RV section they offer cocktails...
Read moreFound this awesome place while heading towards Cedar Grove. We didn’t have a reservation but they had a few spots left for the night. Coming on a weekend everything was sold out but when you find a place like this you don’t hesitate to stop for the night. The lack of city lights and the mountains surrounding the area makes it a great place to star gaze. It is family owned and operated and very friendly staff. I saved this place for future travels.
