We had a reservation for a cabin on 7-16 and 7-17. When we showed up at the checkin time, we found a note on the door saying, Power outage, sorry. We walked around, panicking, for over 2 hours. We spoke to 2 different men who were apparently some sort of employee, but they knew nothing. We paid to check in at 3:30 and finally at 6pm the man i spoke with earlier was standing over by the saloon handing out keys. Luckily, one of the other people trying to check in saw me and told me he was over there. I was obviously looking at the OFFICE. How crazy! We almost turned around and headed home because we didn’t know what else to do! This was really disappointing and stressful, but that was only the beginning. We show up to the cabin to find it dirty. Definitely not swept or cleaned recently, the sheets for the fold out couch were on the ground and NOT washed. Only 2 of the burner on the stove worked making me wonder if the other 2 are leaking gas. We ran out of toilet paper the first day since there was only a used almost empty roll when we showed up. Since no one was at the office we had to drive down the hill to get some. We brought our towels down like the sign said but was never able to find a single person in the office. I called the number on the door multiple time but the phone just rang the Carrol Baskin song right in front of me. Not useful. But what I will probably contact my credit card company about was the hot water. I took a shower, had the water adjusted to the correct temperature and all of a sudden the water went scorching hot, scalding my skin, leaving blisters. If I had a child in there, they could have been really injured! The temperature of the water was well over 180 degrees, as that is the hottest our thermometer went. I believe that it is illegal to have to water that hot. Seeing that we weren’t able to take showers, which was really the only reason I rented the cabin, was burned really bad, had to supply our own tp, weren’t able to check in when told we could (and made me freak out that we didn’t have somewhere to stay) and had to use our...
Read moreWe camped here in our rv for 3 nights. You’re able to choose your site online. They do need to update their rv site map because it is a little confusing and some of the spots are really tight for bigger rvs. Upon arriving there was someone in one of our spots. Called and they had someone go talk to the guy to tell him to move. He refused to move so then we had to do a bunch of scrambling because we had 3 trailers in our group and we had planned to be by each other. Cody, Aaron, and Erin tried to accommodate us as best they could but it seemed there was some miscommunication considering the reservations are based out of Los Angeles. I found it strange that we had to accommodate the guy in our site but we moved past that and after getting situated in our new spots started to enjoy the beautiful weather. There are 23 rv sites total so it’s pretty quiet for the most part and the kids could ride their bikes around no problem. There’s a creek you can walk along and it will take you down to the lake. We happened to be here during catamaran races and they had a concert series with food trucks, vendors, and live music within walking distance. Erin down at the saloon was awesome! She’s so nice and tried to help us out as best she could. The guys Aaron and Cody did their best to and were really helpful. On the day we were leaving the campsite next to us had the sewer backup and cody was there asap to fix it. The campground is really old so I'm sure the sewer can use some working on. They are doing a lot of construction and revamping so it will be really nice when it’s all done in a couple years. All in all it is a charming place and we plan to come back and hopefully won’t run into the same issues we...
Read moreThis place is a health hazard and needs to be shut down immediately. They advertise as “rustic” but really they mean “filthy and in disrepair.” The cabin floor has stains, mold, and holes throughout and walking across it barefoot made our feet dark with dirt. A mouse ran across our floor twice. There was a random extension cord going out the ripped screen of the window. Spiderwebs, rust, dirt, and mold is everywhere. The oven doesn’t vent out so when you cook, the entire cabin smells of gas. Even the front steps are a tripping hazard. We mentioned the mouse to the staff and they had no reaction. They also don’t believe in Covid-19 so not a single employee wore a mask - indoors or out in the middle of a pandemic. The staff match the state of the cabins - visibly dirty and definitely sketchy. They could give the Tiger King cast a run for their money. They do not offer refunds so once you book, you are stuck in this hell hole. No staff who could actually help you was ever available in person, by phone, or email. The staff who is their just sit around drinking and smoking all day and night and seem very confused. We also rented kayaks and they were dirty and broken but we made it work but afterwards we had to actively seek our rental deposit back - which took talking to no less than four separate people. Way too many health and safety hazards to name here but I’m attaching photos. Lake Huntington itself is beautiful but do NOT stay here. It’s...
