I made a reservation six months ago for the 1st through 4th of July. My camper had a recall on the propane system and also had some other warranty issues that had to be fixed and camping world could not get the camper in until the end of July as of now. So not knowing if my camper would be in working order in time for this trip I called yesterday to inquire about cancelling. The woman that answered the phone yesterday stated we would pay the cancellation fee but did not say we would lose our entire $167 deposit. I got no confirmation email so called back today and was told it was canceled and that we lost our entire $167 deposit. The woman I spoke with today even said she was sorry I was told that yesterday but that is a new employee and she just started so she gave me the wrong information and also that the confirmation email I received in January stated there were no refunds on holidays. I did not go back and read the fine print in the email from six months ago because I was told by your employee when I called that was not the case and I trusted that what your employee said and who you trained was correct. If I knew I would lose the entire deposit I would wait until the last second to cancel incase my camper could have been fixed in time for the trip, I would not have canceled yet. Also to note it is a holiday weekend and there is a good chance the site is going to be filled anyways and you will just make a profit off of someoneâs misfortune. Other ways that businesses handle this situation would be: A) we stand by what our employee told you, B) This is our policy and if we canât fill the site we will keep the deposit, but if we can we will refund you because we are not losing any money. I think the management/owners here should go take a class in business ethics. My wife and I were full time RVers when we were travel nurses and now go on frequent trips to campgrounds and RV parks all over and have never experienced negative customer...
Read moreWe were a larger group of 6-7 families and this is our experience there.||1. One of the group members came in late ( after 10 PM on a friday - since they were driving from 4 hours away and hit traffic/bad rain on the way). The campground has a gate and does not open anyone after 10 pm. Even though we purchased a gate pass for them and they did not allow us to open the gate for the latecomers. A full family along with kids were made to sleep in the van all night, because "the rules" dont allow anyone to come in . I have never seen any management be so inconsiderate about this and rude . NO EMPATHY and RUDE staff.||||2. Everyone is supposed to be within the tents by 11 pm. no campfire allowed beyond 11 pm and multiple warnings by staff to close everything down by 11 pm. Ridiculous and stupid rule. No one comes camping to sleep, people like to hang out by the fire , isnt it ? There was no way we could explain to them, since the staff are insconsiderate and rude. They think they are law enforcement and kept barking orders around for us to close everything down inspite of us not being noisy at all.||||3. We had 7 camping sites and they had another stupid rule for no reason that we had to only put up a tent in our assigned slots. What is the big deal if we re-arrange the sites ( which we all rented ) , since it was convenient for kids to sleep etc.|| ||AGAIN, zero consideration for customer problems. They are all on a power trip with these RULES they have !!!||I do not recommend this place for anyone looking to have some camping fun. Especially DO NOT go , if you are in a group and if you want to be awake a second after 11 PM. There's several other camp grounds in the area - nothing special about this...
Read moreOur stay at White Birches Campground was extremely disappointing. We arrived at 9:10 PMâwell before their 9:30 PM check-in cutoffâwith our 43ft 5th wheel, which the owners were fully aware of. The pull-through site was unlit, tight, and poorly prepared. A picnic table had been placed too close to the entrance and was clipped during setup. A neighboring camper helped us move it and confirmed the site was difficult to navigate.
Shortly after unhooking, we had to rush our son to the ER for a hand injury. Our teen stayed behind to finish setup. The next morning, just after 8 AM, the owner, Bob, knocked loudly on our door and immediately accused us of trying to hide the table damageâdespite the office being closed when it happened and our intention to report it. We had already repaired the table, yet Bob remained hostile and insisted we pay a $50 fee. He even approached our neighbors after we left for the day to "verify" our storyâwho told him exactly what we had already explained.
Later that day, my husband used his gate card to enter the campground with a friend visiting our site. After dropping her off, he left to run to the storeâonly to return and find his gate card had been disabled. He was locked out of the campground and unable to rejoin his family until our guest came down to register. Locking a paying guest out over an unregistered visitor and a $10 fee is not only excessive, itâs unprofessional and unacceptable.
Overall, we felt disrespected, micromanaged, and unwelcome. Based on both our experience and similar reviews, itâs clear non-seasonal or out-of-state guests are not treated equally. We will not return and do not recommend...
