Our Old House — Hotel in Shelbyville

I have stayed here for 3 or 4 years, same time of the year. Two times they called me and said "We want to move you from Cabin #1 to Cabin#2. This after I reserved it a month, sometimes 2 months in advance. First, was because a big unscheduled fishing tournament came to town and the person wanted a certain spot (Cabin #1) to park his boat. We had a boat also, just not a fancy enough one I guess. This time was because they had a long term winter guest and didn't want him to have to move all his stuff for they days we got reservations for. I guess it's who you are. I will...

This is our third year coming here. It's spring time so we don't get to use the pool, but the place is wonderful. The cottage is simple but has what you need to get away. Furniture is comfy, plenty of beds, and a kitchen to feed everyone. No dishwasher, which would be nice after cooking up fish, but not a big deal.

Don and Barb are wonderful hosts and help out with little pointers for town. Property has plenty of room, little pond to fish, and an overall great spot...

We have stayed twice in one of the cabins. I am mad at myself for not doing research to find out about their place. We could have been doing this for years!! I have nothing bad to say. They bend over backwards to accommodate you! The place has been so clean each time! We will be back after we eat some of the fish we caught. Love how close their places are to things in the area! Don’t hesitate to book with them! You will be mad at yourself for not doing it...
