I've loved this area for years, but this campground has ruined it for me. Kids running through your campsite constantly past 11pm. You can't have visitors past 10 pm, you can't talk at a reasonable volume around the campfire past 10 pm. But if you're a kid yelling and running through everyone's sites apparently that's allowed. They close the gate on you at 10 so don't be caught having an emergency or being out late. Worst park experience ever and we're avid campers that respect the parks and the rangers but...
Read moreNice campground right across the street from the beach, which has a swimming area for kids and is great for kayaking and paddle boarding. The campground is by a creek with a cute 1.7 mile loop hike. The RV spots with hookups are right next to the road, which motorcyclist and lifted trucks with loud exhaust seem to enjoy speeding by. The park service also seems fond of using gasoline leaf blowers until 8pm Friday and Saturday evenings. If you enjoy quiet, pick a spot toward the back of the park away...

Well maintained state park in the picnic area, restrooms are clean, water faucets are available inside the small shelters. There are electric outlets too, very convenient for picnic and cooking.
