The quality of this hotel has declined significantly. It has been my hotel of choice when I visit Shreveport. Unfortunately, my most recent visit will be my last. It is obvious that the housekeeping staff and the maintenance staff are either not being held accountable to doing a good job or they simply just don’t care.
My first few days were spent in a regular King room. Upon entry into the room, it appeared that someone must have destroyed the room at one point. The lamp over the sink must have been torn off. The fix was a sloppy welding job with the shade still hanging off. There was a large crack on the shower wall around the bar as if it had been ripped out at some point and haphazardly repaired. Hair that wasn’t mine was on the bathroom floor and on the sink. It was late so I pulled out my Clorox wipes and made the space tolerable. The shower gel was almost empty but there was enough to last until housekeeping came.
Housekeeping came my second day at the hotel. I assumed the shower gel would be refilled and the hair would be gone when I returned. Negative. The shower gel was never replaced and the hair remained in the same spot where I left it. The trash can in the bathroom remained full. Only 2 washcloths remained though I started with 3. No dish soap was provided to clean dishes. I had received a message earlier in the day from the hotel asking about my accommodations. I responded by letting them know about the shower gel, hair, towels and dish soap. The response I received was an offer to come to the front desk to get washcloths and dish soap. Housekeeping never returned to resolve the other issues the remainder of my stay in that room.
The kicker of the stay was when the power went out. There was no storm so that was not a factor. I returned to the hotel and saw that the lights were out down some of the halls. When I entered my room, the A/C was not working but I still had lights. The cable was not working but it had been going in and out the whole time I was there. I was ok watching TV on my phone until repairs were made…until the room went completely black. No lights. No anything! It took some time for everything to eventually come back on.
Upon the conclusion of that reservation, I transitioned to a double because a family member was going to stay with me. I assumed the first room may have been a fluke and I was going to have a better experience with the double. Negative AGAIN. I started to assume that housekeeping does not have vacuums available because there was a cluster of small trash on the carpet in front of the door. Additionally, we discovered more hair everywhere. We decided to lay towels on the floor to walk on. I pulled out the Clorox wipes again. The closet doors were offline and it took me awhile to get them straight. This room was also missing dish soap and there was little to no water pressure in the kitchen. The cable continued to go in and out. It wasn’t until the second night that we discovered that there was a blood stain on the comforter. I wasn’t using my comforter on my bed so it was used to replace the blood stained one on the other. That was the last night spent at this hotel.
It's unfortunate that the quality has diminished so much. The front desk staff is always nice but the housekeeping and maintenance of the property is horrendous. We paid hotel prices for...
