Crisanver House — Hotel in Shrewsbury

My girlfriend and I recently spent a weekend getaway at the Crisanver House. We had initially booked a room in the main building, but when we arrived there, we asked our hostess if we could instead upgrade our selection and stay in one of the separate cottages. Our hostess (and co-owner of the B&B) Carol was very sweet and gracious and accommodated our request. Crisanver House is beautiful with amazing views, the grounds are peaceful and quiet, and make for a nice relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of busy city life.

Our meals were delicious and lovingly prepared. Carol was wonderful in a nutshell - she was warm, made us feel welcome, and very kind, as was our waitress Andrea. I would go back there in a heartbeat.

Note that getting internet coverage could be a bit tricky in the cottages - we had to walk the short distance to get closer to the main building - but if always staying connected on WiFi is essential, perhaps Vermont is not the best place to...

Our five-night stay at Crisanver House was one of the most relaxing vacations we've enjoyed in years. Our room was both extremely comfortable and impeccably decorated, as is the entire house. Carol, Michael, and Andrea are superb hosts – always helpful, and ever ready with recommendations regarding local attractions and activities. The staff is wonderfully friendly and attentive. The grounds are beautifully kept, and we made good use of both the tennis court and the swimming pool and enjoyed local theater, restaurants, and historic sites. We looked forward to Carol's absolutely delicious breakfasts every morning and couldn't decide whether we enjoyed them more in the beautiful sunroom or on the deck, with its spectacular view. We wish we could have stayed longer and would love to return...

A Vermont gem, this B&B will accomodate the most discerning of guests. The accomodations are beautifully appointed with great attention to detail and lots of country charm. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and quiet. Carol and Michael are wonderful hosts and make sure you feel at home without being the least bit intrusive. Breakfast is made to order and everything is made with fresh ingredients. Fresh fruit plate, warm muffins and croissants right out of the oven, eggs any way you like them, and more. Cozy fires at night, games and books to keep you entertained, peace and quiet to relax and renew, or borrow some snowshoes - it's up to you! Our visit was snow covered, but we are just as eager to return in warmer weather to enjoy the decks, grounds, and spectacular views. Treat yourself...
