We have been coming to the Blue River Campground for 5 years, ranging from tent camping to our Class A and now to our T@G teardrop trailer. This time we stayed in site #18, which was on the river. This site is great because it's got trees, a good amount of space between neighboring sites and it's on the river. Our camp hosts (Jess, Vic and family) have been there with us every year we have been here. They keep the campground in great condition and the restrooms are always extremely clean. I really respect that they are looking out for the guests and want their experience to be one to remember. If you are looking for a great campground with super hosts, book a site at Blue River. Can't wait to get back...

We stayed here for two nights recently and had a great time. The site was huge and had a picnic table and fire ring. The vault toilets were so clean I didn't have to hold my breath while inside! The camp host Jess was so nice too - she brought treats to give to our pups! Also there's a dumpster on site!

We were right by the road so you could hear cars pretty much 24/7 but that's what you get when you're 12 minutes from Silverthorne.

Before we booked I couldn't find any reviews about cell service but if anyone is wondering apparently there is AT&T service but it's a dead zone for Verizon.

If you want to get on the water check out Green Mountain Reservoir and Heeney Marina for boat...

Lower campsites had great views and reasonable privacy. The upper sites, not so much. There is a fair amount of road noise from 6 am to about 10 pm but that is to be expected near a roadway. The river does a decent job of drowning that out though and it wasn't really a bother. If there were water available somewhere at the campground (not asking for showers or water hookup) we would have rated this a 5. We knew going in there was no water available so we were prepared for it. Bathrooms were very well kept up.

We stayed at site 7, and there was little shade but a beautiful view of the hills and sky. Unfortunately, there is no access to the Blue River unless you go through other camp sites. The bathrooms are well maintained! The host was kind, and there is plenty of room between camp sites to not be bothered or bother others. There are a bunch of hikes and a few fishing spots nearby. Far enough from SilverThorn to feel in the wilderness and close enough to get anything you may need or want!

A nice spot, especially the lower sites. The water was high this year (June 18 2023 weekend) but still sort of fishable from the edges. Campground is nice, bathrooms are very clean and site staff are nice. Some spots are pretty close together with worn paths between them. Town is nearby for anything you need. Plus plenty of hiking trails. Careful of off-leash dogs. Overall a great spot. Fills up early so book way ahead of your visit!
